yep, aged in French oak. good stuff. I suck at not drinking my beers, so aging is difficult for me. but it's a good beer.

I have had the 15, 16, and 17 regular releases; kindly aged by a store near me. Kind of winning, living around Detroit Metro sometimes. Lots of well aged craft beer if you know where to look.

I broke in the Teku tonight. Noms

I really love the St. B. and Mikkeller. Never seen a Donk Xmas, but I also don't like 'regular' donk either. I've seen Delirium Noel, but always avoided due to my distaste for Delirium Tremens.

went out with my roommate and his coworkers...didnt have to pay, one of them expensed it on his company card...why cant my company ever do this. Tequila and saki shots fml...I hate hard alcohol and tequila is the worst. But I was the only one that downed the double shot in one gulp. The saki actually wasnt half bad.

Do you ever drink quality whisky? I'm finding it just as enjoyable as a good beer. But yeah if I were drinking gut rot tequila and vodka all night, I'd feel like shyt the next morning too.

I actually feel surprisingly well all things considered...the last few weeks ive had terrible hangovers from excessive amounts of beer. But I absolutely chugged 40 oz of water before I went to sleep last night. I did this in college and it usually worked. The tequila was at the nicest sushi restaurant in boston so it was probably a decent brand if there is such a thing. Im just upset I got there when they were basically done eating. I would have went to town on the sushi...I havent had any in a few months.

As far as whisky no...my parents are very big into single malt scotches...I bought my father a 17 year macallan last year for xmas and he regularly drinks 12 and 18.

Ive tried them but they just dont do anything for me. But like craft beer its an acquired taste and if you are not used to it you wont like it.

Im thinking of getting my dad a 20 year macallan this year...would go for the 25 but I dont have a huge salary.

oh and haha my roommate was so ****ed up...he ordered the shots then didnt even know how to do the salt and lime bit. I had to tell him about the lime and he started like biting it.

Off to get drunk at my niece's first birthday party. My brother picked up a keg of 512 pecan porter this morning - yeeaaah.

Yeah it's not for everyone. I haven't gotten into scotch too much since my budget is holding me back. Quality beer is a better bang for your buck than an expensive bottle of whisky. I mostly drink 10-15 yr old scotch since my income isn't disposable. A bottle of 20 year old Macallan is still a great gift. I've only had up to the 18, and it was amazing. Alcohol was almost undetectable for being 86 proof.

Kunis>Wasabi>Fuji Grill - Kunis has the best sushi in Buffalo by far IMO, and some choice sake as well if you're into that.

Chocolate you say? Looks like yet another ill have to add to my list. Chances are if its dark and strong I'm going to love it.

Although its not a Christmas Belgian... Pick up a bottle of Ommegang Three Philosophers for her. For me it's easy to drink, still strong with a nice dark cherry flavor.
