    how many pull ups and push ups should 20 year old man do?

    when i was 20 i was in the military so i was doin about 30 pullups and like 70 push ups....

    I'd say a fit man who doesn't specifically 'train' for improvement in those exercises might be expected to perform 35-40 pushups and 6-10 pullups.

    Some will achieve much more, some considerably less.

    Personally I can probably hit that mark for the push ups but not the pull ups, but there's not much in the way of valid excuses to not be able to do those numbers. And yes, I consider myself bellow the benchmark for what should be standard.
