Beans are a great POST WORKOUT meal

I noticed that not only are heins maple beans healthy and very tasty, it falls under a great post workout meal. With simple carbs(sugar) and the complex carbs, it also contains little fat .5 per serving and a alot of protein roughly 14 g a serving. Does anyone object that this would be considered a good post workout meal?

By the way i eat the whole can so my post workout meal looks like this
    400 cals
    46 carbs
    52 protein
    16 sugar

sugar is not a good carb PWO or any other time. You'd be better off taking your PWO nutrients in liquid form and by using better carb sources.

    ?

OP, what's your pre-workout meal. If you are spiking insulin levels sufficiently pre-workout then beans would be fine pwo. Just be prepared for some awful gas.

wilki ive heard many professionals say that simple sugars are really good for when you finish working out, so how can you say it is bad after a post workout?

Baked beans are absolutely fine, especially if you either don't get gas or don't care.

Were talkin about table sugar here that is commonly found in beans. Table sugar is fructose+glucose. There are better forms of carbs to spike your insulin PWO. It would be much more effective to take something like maltodextrin or waxy maize with some whey or whey/casein combo. Beans also digest rather slowly, and it would be best to take in something that gets into the body quickly to restore glycogen and transfer nutrients into the muscles.

Beans have too much fiber bro, you don't want that slowing down digestion! Dex and malto, and maybe some white bread but only if you're a woman and read Muscle and Fitness hers (second part is CRUCIAL, subscription = automatic gains).

But seriously, sure, beans are awesome. Last time I checked though, beans only have 1g sugar/serving...
