Question Who Makes The Best Weighted Vest???

Guys, from your own personal experience, who makes the best weighted vest? I'm looking for a sturdy 20-40lb vest at a decent price that fits securely to run sprints and agility drills. Any suggestions?

This is one of the best manufacturer's of a weighted vest, hands down.

I bought a 40 lb. vest from Wal-Mart (Iron Man Brand) for 40 dollars, but it moves around and is really only best for chin-ups/pull-ups and push-up drills. If I took it on runs or for agility training, it would murder my knees.

I've tried vests from MIR, and if you can afford it, it is definitely worth the money.

I have used a TDS vest and it seemed sturdy; also a pretty good value at $129 for the vest and 50 lbs of weight.

I don't think this would be a good idea when running sprints or sprinting up hill.

I'm in my basement right now using a 60LB Mir Pro vest for weighted pullups. Personally I like the BOX over the Mir and one of these days I'm going to take one home from work. The BOX Vest fits better (seems to fit more like a skin as opposed to the somewhat bulky Pro) and is lower profile. Only downside is the BOX vest only goes to 45LB so depending on how heavy you need to go it might now work.

I went on the Mir website and their vests look really durable, but a little out of price range. What about some of the cheaper vests on the market made by Gold's Gym, Valeo & Altus? I know they're not in the same league as the Mir or X-vest.

Just because a military unit does something doesn't necessarily make it a good idea.

For example, they are renowned for hiking in combat boots, when comfortable joggers would be much more practical for the average person.

You may want to keep an eye on Craigslist/Ebay since a used vest would probably be the way to go, otherwise you're going to end up with something that is most likely sub-par in terms of quality.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the ZFO. I was going to go with a vest from www.weightvest.com, but its the kind you have to load your own 2.5lb plates in it. It had a lifetime warranty, but I didn't want to go through the hassle.

I have a V Force vest from weightvest.com, but it's definitely overkill for lighter weight work (they use really unnecessarily heavy duty nylon for 40-60 lbs). I've got the 150 lb long vest, definitely not for agility. Great for heavy pushups and endurance training though...walking up a hill with even 75 pounds is grueling.

Smile Best Vest/Gear I have found - Hands down

I've tried a few of them and none of them seem to work the way I wanted them to and then I found Titin from a company called Titin Tech. Im sold on it.
This is by far my favorite piece of training gear. I use and abuse this system daily, working through the full spectrum of capabilities (i.e. Movement prep, functional fitness, interval training, and recovery). I can't say enough about the impact on my progress; after 5 months of implementation, I'm significantly stronger, faster, and quicker to recover then ever before. Their site is titintech Its well worth the money. I even bought extra gels to keep in the freezer.
