Reminds me of when you see parents saying "I don't want you hanging around with those kids". Don't worry Mrs. HIL, we will take care of your boy. Hnnnngggg at that power cage, great pressing, and the 500lb DL better watch it's back, because you're going in dry.

Just do what I do. Few sets of really light deads, usually 135 for some reps, two sets, then 225 for a few, 315 for 1, and 405 for one. Which you could probably skip the 405 and just go straight to your 1RM. The key is not wasting a ton of energy and getting warmed up properly.

Easy. I use the same ramp up for max attempts on the big 3, although I don't max much.

    1. Have the number in mind that you want to hit (e.g., 315 on flat bb bench).
    2. Ramp up by 10%

    ...
    225 x 3 (70%)
    255 x 1 (80%)
    285 x 1 (90%)
---- rest for at least 5 minutes ----
    315!!!!

    3. If the max attempt was fairly easy, add on weight (say +10 on bench, +20 on squat/deadlift), rest another few minutes, and repeat!

    1. Have the number in mind that you want to hit (e.g., 315 on flat bb bench).
    2. Ramp up by 10%

    ...
    225 x 3 (70%)
    255 x 1 (80%)
    285 x 1 (90%)
---- rest for at least 5 minutes ----
    315!!!!

    3. If the max attempt was fairly easy, add on weight (say +10 on bench, +20 on squat/deadlift), rest another few minutes, and repeat!
I use this method as well. I haven't done a whole lot of max attempts, but I got it from dopamine72 (MM knows this guy is a beast). Seems to work pretty well.

That rack is so damn sweet.
