Muscle Milk is one of the leaner protein shakes... as far as I am concerned.
You are more likely to gain a little more fat by taking it before bed, due to the fact your metabolism is working at a much lower capacity in sleep. However, this is a great time to take the shake still. It ensures your muscles have the nutrients to repair whilst sleeping...
Overall, you won't see significant increases in fat for it to really matter in my opinion.

they're both good proteins, but you have to examine the profile to see what it should be used for.
Syntha 6 and MM are both blends, that's fine for lots of the time, but I'd prefer a 100% whey to take post workout. I like blends for meal replacements and pre-bed, but that's just my .02.
As far as the fat gains that's completely dependent on the rest of your diet, you might have to adjust the rest a bit to meet your macros but it shouldn't be anything to radical.
