A workout geared towards someone else may not be the best way to start things out.
    Especially for a "beginner".

I think you will get much more and better feedback in the regular O35 forum.

I started out at 48 on a 3-day split at 20 reps, 3 sets, 3 exercises per body part. As I gained strength and improved form, the reps dropped. First to 15, then to a 12, 10, 8 pyramid. The higher reps got me ready for the heavier weights at the lower reps.

A lot of people like full body workouts for beginners or Starting Strength by Rippetoe. You can find a lot of workout routines in the exercise section of the main site. And probably a lot of differing opinions on where to start

Newbs of any age usually do better on 3 day-a-week, full body routines. Have a look here; good info:

    No brain, no gain.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon
