Neat.
Several years now we've had a repeat day like that. Better savor this one.
But it was 12:11 you posted that. WTF

There is a new game show on NBC called Take It All that I predict cannot last longer than one season. It's based on the classic Christmas gift exchange game where you can either pick a random prize, or take a price from someone else - the goal in the first rounds is to not be the one left holding the least valuable prize. That's all great, but then the last two people get to the final round and it's a prisoner's dilemma game. They can either choose "keep mine" or "take it all" where if both players choose "keep mine" they both keep the prizes they have won up until then, if one person chooses "take it all" and the other doesn't then they take everything, and if they both choose "take it all" then they both get nothing.
The concept works because people in general are stupid - as illustrated by the first episode last night. The woman took it all and gramps went home with nothing. But really this is a game that should never be won. The only way you can ever win anything is if the other person chooses "keep mine" and if they are going to do that, it will always be in your best interest to pick "take it all". And this is what virtually everyone will do. So once audiences realize that no one ever wins anything, they will stop watching and the show will be cancelled. My Journal (RIP 05/11 - 09/13):

Are you under the impression that happy prize winning contestants is a key element needed to drive ratings and ultimately maintain or attract sponsorship revenue?
Be honest, watching some poor hobo lose everything and walk off the show crying will put a smile to your pudding eating face.
So if the other person chooses "keep mine" you win no matter what. The only question will be how much.
Sounds like the key is to bullsht the absolute hell out of your opponent to get them to select "keep mine"
lots of winks, compliments and shoulder pats.

Yeah, but even if you're not really interested in Kavak talking about F1, Farley and his guns, Apple vs Samsung, politics, etc., you can still follow it if you wanted to, maybe do a bit of research into what's being discussed and you might even learn something. If someone is not in your TAAB-Trollando-Manly fantasy league then they can't follow the discussion.
IMO it would make more sense to create a thread in fantasy sports and discuss it there.
If a few Aussies showed up in here and we started discussing fantasy Australian Rules Football, you'd probably be leading the chorus saying "STFU and take this AFL sh*t to another thread."

There hasn't been F1 in months.
Next season doesn't start until March 15th.
Sometimes I don't know what to do Friday-Sunday.
I sit in a dark corner shaking back and forth wondering why there isn't a P, Q or R session on.

Yippee....
The "Grandview Triangle" is about to get more interesting come noon today. Not only will we have a larger clusterf--- with only two interstate highways but three (US 71 becoming I-49).
Locally, not much different, but out-of-towners will be fun seeing getting lost and the traffic reporters stumbling over themselves more.
