i had that one guy that kept low balling me on my 100 pound plates. only sold them because my gf couldnt' lift 200 easily and they would have been too much of a hassle to remove on one side. got 45's on there now. i had them up at 120 for 2 and one guy kept saying all he had was 60. i agreed to 80 and i said do not call me unless you have the 80. the dude calls me anyways and has 70. completely ignoring what i said. i didnt' respond. i sold them the next day to someone that bought a yukon back rowing machine from me before for the 120. he said they were the biggest plates he had ever seen .
the same guy that low balled me on the plates emailed me later when i was selling my ironmaster dumbbell stands. i pretty much let him have it without cursing him out and he started cursing ME out and i even got him to admit he had the price i wanted for the dumbbell stands. douchebag even emailed me from a second email cause i didn't respond once he finally agreed to my asking price saying i was a jerk and all kinds of awful names. i knew it was him he had the same writing style i let him know it and he didn't deny it . needless to say i didn't tell to him. now for pretty big items or where people low ball me, i just stash it in my car and meet them somewhere near by. alot easier that way .

Below are a few photos from the hike we did last Saturday in the Superstitions. We started at Lost Dutchman State Park and hiked up to the Flatiron. Total mileage was only around six miles. It took most of the day, however, due to nearly 3,000 feet of accumulated elevation gain.
The Flatiron is the large angular rock at the upper right in this photo. You can see another group of hikers at the lower left.
I took this photo a number of hours later when I was nearly atop the Flatiron.
A view of some of the mountains to the northwest. Part of the town of Apache Junction is visible near the bottom of the photo. Fountain Hills can be seen at the right, midway up the photo. The mountain range beyond Fountain HIlls are the McDowells. Visible in the foreground are Pass Mountain, Usury Mountain, Lone Mountain, Red Mountain, and the Goldfields. (I think so anyway; the only ones I can identify for sure are the McDowells and Red Mountain.)
A view of the Flatiron from the side. The large protruding plants in the foreground are agave flower stalks. I saw a bunch of dead stalks; I saw a cluster of agave flowers in bloom a month or so ago. (I can't remember if I posted that photo or not.)
After visiting the Flatiron, we walked over to another mesa. Three of my hiking party can be seen on that mesa.
A view of the Flatiron in the late afternoon after descending most of the way back to the trailhead.

I've been meeting people at Starbucks but an apartment building parking lot is a really good idea. There are irritating buyers but there are also irritating sellers. On more than one occasion, a seller told me that he was keeping the good stuff. I'm not sure why they include it in the photo on Craigslist unless they actually think that someone will settle for buying only the junk when the bait and switch is revealed.

This does happen. I'm not sure why people do it either...its also a pita when they take a picture of a mess that appears to have some weight equipment in it....and say "weight bench for sale, great shape". I'm sure its just laziness and not really knowing what they're doing...which is trying to get someone to come take away some stuff they don't want anymore.
I try to specifiy exactly what it is I'm getting with as many details as possible. I can't remember a time when I've been surprised with this tactic.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I clipped this pick of an ad a few years ago......this is exactly what I'm talking about.
I've actually seen some ads where people are seriously asking like a grand and give a terrible description with no pictures.....hilarious.

That pic is nice and clear compared to the listing I found this morning. It was a series of blurry cellphone pics of what honestly appeared to be a pile of dusty scrap metal and dumbbells.

Cheap new toy!
1953 Mosin Nagant M44. Need to get some surplus ammo and go play at the range. This is my only rifle, not sure how I'm going to like it. For the price I couldn't pass on it, though I may end up giving it to my dad. He loves old military rifles.

Well, with all the nightmare craigslist stories, I would like to post a positive one. I have been doing a LOT of clearing out and doing well on ebay and craigslist (I have made $500 on ebay this month alone). Just sold my concept 2 rower and bumper plates last night (craigslist) and a certain regular poster here is coming for all my olympic plates and dumbbells, plus a few extras in about a week.
Lots of stuff led to this: My jiu-jitsu gym is merging with what is probably the best and most well equipped gym in my area. My BJJ instructor negotiated a deal that for the first year, for the price I already pay for jiu-jitsu, I get access to everything they have-rowing machines, treadmills, spin classes, plenty of top notch leverage machines and of course weights, dumbbells, and benches. Plus a sauna and some other high end stuff that I likely wont use.
So thats reason #1
Reason #2- We need the space...badly. With 2 kids now and everything that goes along with that, it was past time to clean and clear. My wife bagged up 3 large garbage bags of clothes between the 2 kids and she isnt even close to being done. Anyways, with the essentially free access to a fully stocked gym and my wife and I being on the same page (for once) about cleaning out...that would be reason enough.
Reason #3-We are trying to use all of the sales of this stuff to pay for the entire Disney trip that we have planned. Money is tight, like always at this time of year, so if we can fully (or even partially) fund the Disney trip with these sales, it would really relieve some stress.
My only concern...after the 1st year of that deal with this gym...I am scared what my price might increase to.....[]---[] Equipment Crew Member #14

This comment reminds me of one of my best deals ever. If I recall correctly I got all of the following from that dungeon lol.
(2) Cybex Power Racks
Cybex Seated Calf
Hammer Super Calf
Pendulum Hip Press
(2) Pendulum Squats
(2) Cybex Military Benches
(2) Cybex Flat Benches
Hammer Hip and Back
Hammer 4 sided Chin / Dip
Adjustable Plyo Boxes
Flat Utility Bench
and more
It was a ton of work as this was all in a basement, down a long hallway, and we had to park half a block away.

^^ omg dude.. that would give me a nightmare but that's awesome if you have the space
The vast majority of my craigslist experience has been very positive for sure.
Just last week, someone posted a rogue s2 squat stand with matador dip attachment and vertical plate holders
I go there and see he is including the rogue flat bench, safeties, an extra pair of rogue hg collars with the whole package
Our family has been clearing a lottt of stuff out too trying to live more minimalist/simplistic. Craigslist is so amazing. We've just been selling random decade old furniture and appliances for a good bit of cash when we otherwise would have probably just thrown it all away before the internet.
I've been selling my exercise equipment that's been in use for about 4 years now for double what I paid for it. It's a good feeling lol

I've thought about selling my gym a few times, Buff. I belong to a fantastic gym that's very close to work and fairly cheap, so I haven't been using the garage gym much. I've already sold off a lot of it, but just can't bring myself to sell my rack/bench and weights. I still have a few other things too, and probably won't be selling it either.
I could use the room in the garage for other stuff, but I like knowing the gym is in there anytime I want it."If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." -Thomas Paine

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?
