>Get incredibly sick the day of blood draw.
Awesome. Now the doctor's going to say "well you're sick, need to do another one in 4 weeks".

It is the non confrontational nature of our society. We don't tell them they are fat so they continue getting fatter. So many people are stressed out about work/money that it is just easier to stop at McDonald's then it is to spend the time cooking. Just wait, it will all come crashing down in the next few decades. When Obamacare kicks in, and we are forced to pay for everyone's healthcare, and those cost continue to skyrocket because of obesity, something will have to change. If, as a society, we choose to pay for someone's healthcare, we will have the right to tell them what they can and cannot eat. You may think I'm crazy, but this will happen. They tested it out on kids programs for school lunches. Society isn't quite ready for it yet but its coming. Those that struggle with employment around these parts should be getting PT certs and Nutritional certs. There will be a huge need for those with those type of skills.
It also revolves around what exactly fat/obese is. The average person is probably 20+ pounds over weight. Just think back to when you started losing weight. For me, I thought 220 would be great. As I approached it, I realized I was still going to be fat as hell. So 200 will make the difference.. Nope.. 185... and still not happy... My friend, who just started cutting a few months ago and has dropped 30 pounds, said it this morning, he thinks 220 will be good.... I told him I thought the same thing...
So it is natural that we have fat acceptance. People want to be accepted. Some people realized that they could make profits off of fat acceptance and an entire new market appeared. Look we are seeing gym popping up that are only for the obese... I get it, probably a good marketing ploy. How do they define 50 pounds over weight? At 220, I might be close..

Yeah, you would think so, but it hasn't happened yet in Canada. We have enormous waiting lists in the public system for life threatening surgeries of all kinds while obese people are flooding the system and consuming resources to treat "metabolic syndrome". And it's just as taboo to call someone fat here. Doctors have actually been issued advisories on on how to use "caution and sensitivity" when telling someone they might be overweight.
My sister in law is a social worker and she was appalled that I actually talked to my ten year old daughter about watching what she eats. Her daughter, same age, is now very overweight and she won't say a word to her because she's "still growing".

ladyj, do you trust your doggie to run free and return without a leash or do you have to use one? There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

She's on a leash until we get to the woods, and then I let her run free. She rarely tries to leave the path and comes if I 'tsk tsk' at her. But I'm also able to just open the door to let her go to the bathroom at night and she won't leave the back yard (no fence). Will even scratch on the door to come back in if I forget about her. Only reason I put her on a leash at all is for her protection because she's easily scared and I'm afraid she might run in front of a car in a panic of hearing an engine -.-.

Former fatty.
I just didn't think I was THAT fat.
Serious.
I used to lift & was strong ect & thought I looked fine.
Ate what I wanted & didn't care.
SRS.
Until I started having health problems.
Then the booting of the wife from the house & after losing a few pant sizes in a month & working out again, ect realized I felt so much better & just went with it.
Wasn't until I hit size 30/32 pants that I really realized how much of a fat fruck I really was.
NEVER going back.

I was literally the only person in the entire gym today. Snowed like 5 inches last night but still. I dunno if that's the reason but I had the worst workout I've had in months.

Used to hate leg days, replaced lunges with step ups and now I love leg days again I've somehow managed to train my hip adductors as i've got doms there not sure how I managed that tho!
Edit: realised its probably from holding dumbbell / plates between my legs on leg raises etc.

Help!!! I'm shrinking. Most of my workout clothes don't fit well anymore.
INB4 do you even eat?
Vanity made me by new socks today. Yesterday this average looking lady was either staring at my groin or my socks.. me thinks it was my cheapo Caterpillar socks from Meijers.

How much does everyone here deadlift? Just trying to gauge how weak I am.

I don't deadlift, but when I did the 2 times I tried before tweeking my back from them, 2 plates wasn't even hard.
I do almost 2 plates doing Yates rows. I'll hit 2 plates next week, still working my way up in weight. Today was 160x1, 170x2. 10 reps each. 95x1 warmup/body check.

oh yeah, i think i negged you, ill get you again, just you wait.
before i hurt my back, OVER 9000 (srs). Now that im not hurt, im taking it nice and slow, im at a weak 315 but paying more attention to other bodyparts and in no rush to snap my schit up again. Making all kindz of gains on 3800 cals a day now, all kindz. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

10th one was when my back twinged, actually taking bar back to the rack is when it happened. Got lazy and loosed up to much. I've always had back issues and just avoid exercises like deads/bent over rows out of caution. I'm older though.
