would bill starr's 5X5 linear progression work?

    5'6 145 lbs

    Squat: 275X5
    Bench: 205X5
    Deadlift: 305X5

    would linear progression still work?

    thanks

Yes, especially with more food. I put about 70 pounds on my squat last time I used it, into the 500's.

Yep, I hit 500 in knee wraps and like 475 without before I ran it. After, I hit 575 in wraps and like 520 without, but I never maxed without them. I actually only did the Monday and Friday squat days, I cut out the middle one, it's not really necessary IMO unless you're using it as a warm up for the DL.

I think cutting out the light squats is a good move, i'm planning on trying it next time I run madcow's. And OP, why not? You should be able to make some gains just get your sleep and your food.

I preferred to use the wednesday squat as a front squat to warm up for deads. I could also see skipping them altogether, but i am not that strong yet.

I think I'll try this too for my next run. I've been thinking about replacing the light squats with some prowler pushes at the end of the workout.

I found wednesday front squats to screw up my recovery, but then again my front squats are terrible..

I started with 275x5 Squat, 215x5 Bench, and 345x5 Dead, and now I'm approximately at 335x5 Squat, 250x5 Bench, and 395x2 Dead. So it should definitely work, especially if you are not afraid to gain weight.
