Question how many grams of carbs during a refeed...

I've read through all of lyles stuff about leptin, but he never really says how much it takes to have an impact. if i refeed every fourth, working ut alot on the other 3 days, of course, will 125 grams of carbs be enough to stimulate a leptin response???

Refeed usually means something like extra 800 calories from complex carbs once a week on your off day.

ya, thats what i figured from what everyone else on here was doing. I just dont think the boost in metabolic rate is justified with an extra 800 calories. I find it hard to believe that eating 200g carbs every 4 days will raise my metabolism 200c/day or more.

The idea is to lower your intake on the other days.

When I was leaning out at 3000 calories and stopped progressing, Chris Aceto recommended I drop calories to 2500 but do a refeed of extra 1000 calories once a week. The overall deficit would thus be bigger by the end of the week.

ya, my deficit is about as extreme as i can right now though.

I was just wondering if a half sized refeed would produce like half the benefits, or if there is a certain threshold u must reach to illecit the desired response.

    From Lyle's site:

"During this period of time, having control and structure regarding food choices will make or break the diet. For each day of the carb load as a rule of thumb, I would focus on consuming a surplus of maintenance plus 20-25% of total calories. So if one’s maintenance caloric intake is 3000, they would be consuming between 3600 and 3750 calories. One should aim to keep dietary fat very low (40-50 grams), get about 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight and fill in the rest of the calories with starchy carbohydrates."
