    Struggling with Mood Swings... Help!

    Hello guys.

I started my cut at 244lb around 8 days ago and I have currently lost 10lb on the paleo diet (caveman) I've ate perfectly clean and not had any slip ups at all but I am really struggling with mood swings. I'm loosing the weight but I might end up getting a divorce in the process. Is there anything that can help?

Any advice will be helpful.. Thanks.. Nick

    What are your macros?

Insufficient dietary fat can contribute to unhealthy hormone fluctuations.

Also, if your carbs are low, you could be experiencing a lack of energy, causing irritability.

We need more information to answer your question.

EDIT: Additionally, unless you have a medical reason to follow Paleo, you should reconsider following a fad diet that arbitrarily restricts foods for no apparent reason, and compose a well balanced diet based on your body's requirements. See the calorie/macronutrient sticky at the top of the forum for more information.

I'm completely new to this. It's my 2nd week dieting and training so not quite sure what macros are. I will give you my typical diet for a day.

    Breakfast: fruit
Lunch: grilled chicken side salad 1 apple 1 banana
Evening meal: steak/chicken breast, side salad/veg, fruit.

The reason I'm doing paleo is my friend had some great success 70lb lost so thought I would give it a go.

    Thanks

    Nick

Your friend lost weight because he was eating at an energy deficit.

Your fats are extremely deficient. You need to learn about proper nutrition, instead of blindly following a fad diet. Start here.

Even with water weight accounting for a lot of initial loss, this seems pretty fast, not in a good way. What daily deficit are you pursuing? And yeah, excessively low fat intake can affect mood, among a host of other issues.
