Every time I go in there, they are always trying to recommend the most expensive **** they have and telling me the stuff I went in there for isn't nearly as good. Even when I tell them "I'm just looking" or some other line they keep at it. Do they get paid by commission in there? What is the deal?

Why are GNC employees so pushy and aggressive?
Go ahead. Squander your precious little negs on me.

Because some employees would rather give you what pays them the most than give you what you actually need or want.

I wouldn't go to GNC if my life depended on it. I went one day just to look, I take muscle milk for my protein supp. They were charging (no lie) 46 bucks for it.....F that!! I cant order it off the net for 22 bucks a jug, I got animal pumps off the net for 35 bucks, they charge like 60 bucks...and 75 bucks for NO? Id rather go to Vitamin World than GNC if I had to choose between the two. Just shop online bro!

This is the 329156993 thread about hating GNC, GNC employees, etc.
If you want, or must go to a GNC store, find one that is a franchise store. You are better off going there because they set a lot of their pricing and control their markups.*RCSS Rep*

My local GNC is actually quite the opposite. They tell everyone to stay far away from any muscletech product. In fact, they will flat out recommend looking online for some of the more expensive items. I buy my ON Whey there, because it seems to be on perma-sale. Everything else I buy off of this site.

Im guessing gnc is franchised because the one i go to is small and ran by an asian lady whos pretty smart. They always offer help but arnt pushy I just wish it was a bigger and had more stuff.
Also their is never more then 1 person working there at once so i dunno i guess it still could be commission based but kinda wierd how they run it in shifts like that. But thats why i think its pretty locally run and maybe commission is for a franchise somewhere with multiple chains of stores.Last edited by LQPrimeTime; 09-22-2008 at 11:45 AM.
