Yes, until you bulk to fat status, then your abs will not be visible anymore.

It's very possible, but requires that extra work to reach for. You have to gain very steady, 1 lb a week, 500 cals above maintenance each day, basic stuff. Eat clean and well. For myself, before I eat something, I ask myself if it will contribute to muscle growth, depending on my situation of how my bodycurrently is, I answer the question myself, and move on...
for example, will a donut contribute to muscle growth before bed?

It's also okay, and maybe even a good thing to do cardio when you bulk.

if you cardio immediately post workout, you should do it either light for 40 minutes top, or intense for 20 minutes tops. Have your post workout meal/shake after your cardio. You must be able to time this perfectly. By that, I mean getting in a meal within 3 hours while having your pre workout meal digest, lift, and cardio. For example:
3pm: pre workout meal (must be able to get in next meal by 6pm)
    4pm: lift 70 minutes
    5:10pm: cardio - 40 min
    5:50pm: pre workout shake/meal

I'm not preaching by the silly little rule saying you must get your shake in within 45 minutes. But I am saying that you should still be eating every 3 hours. Infact, IMO, I think protein immediately post workout is a bad thing, I think it's better to actually have it 30-60 minutes post workout. Having cardio in that time window from your post workout shake/meal is 3-60 minutes. Making it perfect.

Why? Nutrient timing is of little value. You need to do some reading in the stickies in the 'nutrition' forum.

Doesn't matter. You can eat every 15 minutes if you want to, or just a couple of times a day.

As long as you're getting your required P/C/F by the end of the day, nutrient timing isn't important.

Fat 0.4-0.5g/lb TBW (target body weight)
    Carbs 2.3-3.2g/lb TBW

It's also okay, and maybe even a good thing to do cardio when you bulk.

if you cardio immediately post workout, you should do it either light for 40 minutes top, or intense for 20 minutes tops. Have your post workout meal/shake after your cardio. You must be able to time this perfectly. By that, I mean getting in a meal within 3 hours while having your pre workout meal digest, lift, and cardio. For example:
3pm: pre workout meal (must be able to get in next meal by 6pm)
    4pm: lift 70 minutes
    5:10pm: cardio - 40 min
    5:50pm: pre workout shake/meal
i was doing 0 cardio AND gained 27lbs over the last 7-8 weeks (way more than 1lb/week) and still have abs

Why dont you try and be helpfull instead of being full of yourself quoting what you think will make you look big and clever. Leave the bro-science outside ok.

Bodybuilders will commenly eat many smaller meals throughout the day for good reasons, YOU TRY EATING TWO MEALS A DAY on a diet to gain mass...you could be consuming a couple of 2500+ calorie meals. NOT A NICE THING TO DO.

    Think about it next time

You might want to do some research into current nutritional thinking. Everything I stated is backed up with clinical study.

If you have some clinical proof that eating many times a day is 'better' than simply eating your daily totals regardless of number of meals, I'll be happy to read it.

I'd note a couple of things:

    1. If he wants to bulk so slowly that his bodyfat stays low enough for visible abs, then he won't be eating 5000 calories. Eating say 3000 is reasonable in two meals.
    2. No one said two meals. You just don't have to eat every three hours. Eat however many times you feel like, it doesn't matter.
    GOMAD!

    Always thought that:
Eating more times a day (4-6 times)= develope fast metabolism
Eating 1-2 times a day = promote slow metabolism, causing weight gain.

is this wrong now? cuz if this so, i have it more handy to eat less times during day

It's not that the body does not react differently at all to differences in nutrient timing. It's that these differences are highly exaggerated by many. It still makes sense to get optimal pre and post-workout nutrition, eat as soon as you wake up, etc. However, your nutrition totals for the day and week trumph any of these differences by far.

If you gain 1lb per week by eating .5kcal per day over maintenace chances are you're also gaining quite a bit of fat

(correct me if I'm wrong here)

Thanks man. I was around 8% during the summer (calipered 9 sites @ 5% but I was not that lean...usually calipers are 3%ish off) my waist now is about a 1/2" bigger and I hold most fat on my love handles/back...calipered recently around 7% which means I'm likely 10-11%
