Whey with Milk vs. Whey with Water

It seems like most people drink their whey with water and I'm curious what the advantages are. I am currently taking ON Whey with milk and am getting approximately 40g of protein per shake. This is nice especially during the school year when I'm working a lot and taking a full load of classes and it's hard to find time to cook. So could someone tell me the advantages of taking whey with water and the disadvantages of taking whey with milk. Thanks!

Only post workout I'll do whey + fat free milk. Don't want really any fat post workout as it slows absorption.

Mainly I only do this for the small insulin spike from the carbs/sugars in the milk to replenish glycogen levels and help transport nutrients.

Any other time of the day it's whey + water.

I've yet to try a protein with water that tastes better than mixing it with milk. I LOVE milk. The ONLY time I mix protein with water is when I bring powder in a shaker to the gym for post workout if I'm not driving home soon afterwards.
Don't tell me what you want to do, do it.

Thanks for your quick responses. I think I'm going to start having whey with water during the day and whey with skim milk post workout (I can't stand anything but skim anyway).

I usually mix my whey with milk pre/post workout because the milk slows the absorption of the protein. Any other time I mix it with milk though.

Don't stress out about either. Use whichever you'd like. If you need to save the calories or only have water available then use water. If you like using milk then use milk. You're not gonna notice differences in your gains.
