Deer antler Velvet question

So scientists found out that this stuff makes antlers grow real fast. My brother in law told me about it this weekend so i decided to buy Planetary Herbals Full Spectrum Antler Velvet which cost me 14 bucks shipped. Im wondering if anyone here tried this or something similar and would let me know if it was a stupid prchase. it was 14$ so idontgivea****. Has anyone seen results from this stuff, how long, how did you take it?

That stuff is utter crap.

I would question to what extent the peptides in this stuff are even absorbed. Absorption of peptides across the buccal/sublingual mucosa is generally low and inefficient without some type of delivery system. If any of it enters the GI tract, it's going to get hammered by the low pH and proteolytic enzymes too.

It's also rather presumptuous to think that you can always take a peptide from one species, throw it into another and have it do the same thing (assuming any actually gets absorbed which would need to be proven) since they often have different amino acid sequences. If the AA substitutions are not conservative, in regions that impart functionality or the structure is different then it probably has different receptor and BP affinity and more likely to be attacked by the immune system. Unless you have an answer to those questions, it's all blind faith and "trust us bro it works!!11".

This and I'm pretty sure there are some studies out there showing it's bunk. Will try to find them.

Are you aware I have a ritual called 'terminator'. I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slo...wly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy

As one of the many people who actually read the other threads before posting, I have decided not to waste my money on deer antler spray. Sounds like a gimmick to me, and all the talk on sports radio is probably prompted by supplement companies. Best to stick w/ what's been known to work over the course of many years.
