As a citizen of a country where guns and any item that can be perceived as a weapon is entirely illegal , I am envious of Americans right to protect themselves. We have criminals here , who are violent and do brake the law by wielding and using weapons and firearms. We as law abiding peaceful citizens are denied the right to defend ourselves from such people , which makes me wish i lived in texas or florida or some state where you can own firearms.
Making guns illegal doesnt stop criminals from using them , only stops innocent civilians from having one to protect themselves from them . As someone who has been burglarized [I was not present at the time of the B&E] I wish i had some sort of option to defend my family from a potentially violent intruder [not all intruders are violent , im aware that a good chunk are betas looking to steal stuff] .
what other option is there? challenge a crook to a fist fight? , if he has a knife go to your kitchen grab a knife and proceed to medieval duel him?

all the world brahs need to know is that all gun crimes committed in the US are done by <single digits law abiding gun owners. I think it's lower than 5 %.
Sure Australia may work cuz they never had guns, but the states have a history of guns, can't just ban them and expect them to vanish from the face of the earth or criminals to voluntarily hand them over.

NO one who is for guns that I have ever met or talked to is against CONTROL
What people are against is the illogical restrictions to law abiding citizens.
So I have no clue what the point is you are trying to get across is.

After all, these examples never actually happened... (Or so the OP would have us believe). Notice that none of them involved a criminal with a firearm, but an armed victim was able to effectively defend themselves and end the crime in progress:
After locking up, a female employee of Cakes and Confections 4U was leaving the business through a back door when she realized she was cornered by two strange men. One man struck her in the jaw while the other ripped off her necklace and earrings. When the men then attempted to sexually assault the woman, she produced a concealed .32 cal. firearm from her waistband and fired. Both men immediately dropped the stolen jewelry and ran. It was last reported that the assailants were still at large. After the incident, the woman said her firearm saved her life and that she had a strong message to all women, “If you don’t have a gun or you’re scared of guns, get familiar with them and get a gun.” (FOX Carolina 21, Landrum, SC, 8/29/12)
Scott Stith was in his bedroom when he heard a loud crash coming from the first floor of his home. He grabbed his .45 cal. pistol and crept downstairs to investigate. He spotted the silhouette of a man, but did not fire because he had teenage sons in the house and was not 100 percent sure of his target. He called out only to discover the man was an intruder who had broken through the glass of the back door. Stith held the 29-year-old intruder at gunpoint until police arrived. Everyone involved was reportedly unharmed. (Sandusky Register, Milan, OH, 9/29/12)
Brianne Rodriguez heard a knock at her front door just before 9 a.m., but ignored it. A few minutes later, Rodriguez heard loud noises coming from her bedroom. When she went to investigate, she discovered a man wearing a ski mask in her home. The confrontation led to a struggle and Rodriguez was pushed to the floor and kicked in the face and ribs. The masked man then grabbed her screaming 2-year-old daughter and bolted for the door. Rodriguez quickly retrieved a shotgun she kept in her bedroom and followed. Upon seeing the gun, the man dropped the child and fled. He escaped with Rodriguez’s purse and some jewelry, but Rodriguez and her daughter sustained no serious injuries. (KSEE 24 NEWS, Fresno County, CA, 8/28/12)
Several other examples, and many years of prior history, with various combinations of armed/unarmed violent criminals and victims who did or didn't need to fire their weapons:

A man with suspected links to an outlaw motorcycle gang may face deportation to England after being jailed yesterday for a violent home invasion on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Leslie David Gadd, 43, pleaded guilty to charges including acts intended to maim and robbery with violence relating to an incident at Little Mountain in April last year.
The Supreme Court in Brisbane yesterday heard Gadd had shot a man in the thigh after breaking into his house looking for drugs and money.
Gadd and an accomplice found $6,000 worth of cannabis in the pantry and threatened to shoot the man again unless he opened a safe.
The resident of the house was also hit several times with a cricket bat and an ornamental sword but managed to escape.

Five men have been charged in relation to a number of home invasions and armed robberies across Sydney.
Police say two of the men allegedly broke into a man's home at Haberfield, in Sydney's inner-west, at 5.30am (AEST) on Thursday.
The duo allegedly struck the man with a wooden bat before stealing the keys to his car.
They then fled the scene with a group of males outside the house.
Officers later located the stolen car at a fast food restaurant car park about 5km away at Hurlstone Park.
They arrested five men aged between 16 and 19 and later charged them with a number of other offences, including armed robbery and aggravated break, enter and steal.
It is alleged the five were involved in several other home invasion and armed robbery incidents within the Sydney metropolitan area.

The murder rate in the US is roughly four times that in each of Australia, New Zealand, and Britain. Even the most diehard supporter of guns must concede that America's lax firearms laws are a major part of the explanation for such a disparity.
Research published in 2010 in the American Journal of Law and Economics found that firearm homicides, in Australia, dropped 59 per cent between 1995 and 2006. There was no offsetting increase in non-firearm-related murders. Researchers at Harvard University in 2011 revealed that in the 18 years prior to the 1996 Australian laws, there were 13 gun massacres (four or more fatalities) in Australia, resulting in 102 deaths. There have been none in that category since the Port Arthur laws.
Wheres your rebuttal for that?My incredible foresight predicted NSA spying: http://tinyurl.com/muuua2o

Well I imagine that such a fierce law would bolster Police efforts and contribute to an overall better Law Enforcement across Australia. If anything, these stats are even made more significant by the probability that Police would be able to report criminal activity more thoroughly than before.
BRB let's share a train of thought into America's hallmark. 'Statistics show the that over the past 30 years, the more gun ownership increased, the more the amount of reported crimes decreased.'
Because a Law Enforcememt agency would operate better when they're actily pursuing crimes commited amongst a nation where everyone has firearms? **** I wouldn't blame them if they're not there to report every crime. It's just an unrealistic expectation on such a stressed police force. My incredible foresight predicted NSA spying: http://tinyurl.com/muuua2o
