thats the problem you should be focusing on hitting your FAT, CARB, and Protein Ratios not sugar ratios.

So you want to take a weight gainer, which has the sole purpose of allowing a massive intake of calories without providing satiety, in order to reduce your overall caloric intake....

    sugar is a carb

OP: I would prefer to have whole foods - hitting your macros is only part of the story, you need to get your micronutrients too (vitamins, minerals, enzymes, electrolytes etc.) - whole foods are more likely to have these. Weight gainers are sometimes fortified with vitamins and whatnot but I usually prefer to trust to nature.

fyi sugar does not cause diabetes and of course you don't want to make it a staple in your diet because it does not provide micro nutrients but some here and their isn't bad either.

There is no upper limit to one's sugar intake.

I eat 600-700g of carbs per day and at least 250g of that is sugar.

They say too much sugar can lead to being overweight and being overweight increases the chances of getting diabetes that's the relationship between sugar and diabetes. It's not a direct connection
