Is there a fat-free oil for cooking?

Is there a oil for cooking that is very very low on calorie/fat? I want something to basically coat the pan so my meat won't stick and burn the outside parts.

It does seem weird asking for a fat-free "fat" lol but I'm thinking there must be some products out there for very low cal/fat content oil.

    Any help is greatly appreciated~

You can get PAM or any offbrand of that...there are butter flavors of it that are really good.

I don't know if Olestra is commercially available but that would be a fat free cooking oil

if you are not a HUGE calorie deficit (i was at 1200kcal/day and therefore used it) just use oil
    fat = flavor carrier

It rounds down to zero calories. The longer you hold the spray, the fat will eventually start counting up but they don't have to put that on the label.

As long as you aren't spraying it like a maniac, then you're good.

contrary to what the advertisement says PAM is not fat free, it just happens that their "recommended" serving happens to contain less than half a gram of fat so they can round down, similar to what companies do with trans fat. Their serving size is based on 1/3 of a second spray so still gotta be careful if you're really worried about it.

You can use Olive Oil.. its not fat free but it contains only healthy fats ( Omega 3,6, 9) so it will actually help you lose fats.

The question reminds me of when I was once asked how many mgs of fat are in a one gram capsule of fishoil?

Well, if you wanted to go extreme, I believe the active ingredient in non-stick sprays is lecithin. Lecithin is a soap by definition, I believe.

It gave me a moment to pose this thought:

PAM is not fat-free if you end up spraying it for more than a second. Of course, I say this in utter ignorance of the exact timing. There is the fact that there is a certain amount of time that sprays a certain amount of fat that you are spraying on your such-said pain.

And furthermore, 1g of fat = 9 calories. So deal with it, you can not have "low calories/low fat" diets unless they agree on numbers.

I know I've said it before and I'll say it again: There is no fat-free "fat"

    uuhh wut? idk this random..

1/3rd of a second spray, that does not compute in my mind. Why they just dont make a spray that will disperse a single spray and stop spraying where you would have to press it again to get more out.

We have one like this, 1 Kcal per spray, usually around 4 sprays for a 10 inch pan
