Is it sensible to lump all GM cars together as one automaker?
Plenty of decent people will rate Chevy over Ford.

Yes. Most of the engineering is common (chassis, engine, etc.) among different brands of GM vehicles. For example, a Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Chevy Transverse are basically the same vehicle.
The corporate quality, manufacturing, & assembly techniques and procedures are common. The components are common. Etc.☠ By reading this post, you have agreed to my negative reputation terms of service.

I think many non Chevy fans would like corvettes, Cadillacs and some trucks.

Actually The Suburban was a common model between Chevy and GMC. I'm not sure about any more. If the Tahoe equivalent is the Yukon, then I suspect that the Yukon XL would be a simple luxury version of standard Yukon. More on this,, after the edit.
Yeah. Seems that GMC Suburban 2013 results all forget about GMC and just say Chevy.
As far as older cars go, Chevy's are better.Last edited by GeneralSerpant; 02-20-2013 at 08:29 PM.

For years now the GMC equivalent to the Chevy Suburban has been the Yukon XL. There are no longer any GMC Suburbans, although there used to be.
Chevy Tahoe = GMC Yukon
Chevy Suburban = GMC Yukon XL (extended length)
<---Owns a 2011 GMC Yukon XL. Shopped extensively for these vehicles. Is aware.
Basically when you go from the Chevy version to the GMC version you get a few more options and 'luxury' items. The base level GMCs will always come standard with stuff that a low trim level Chevy does not have, for example, and the upper level GMC has all kinds of nice things the Chevy does not. The GMC Denali trim level is sweet. (Denali is not a model...trim level)

I drove a Yukon XL while I was in Iraq. That thing made me have a new respect for Chevy/GMC. I drove the piss out of that thing. It took it pretty damn admirably. During one of the driving excursions with friends, while a friend was driving it, she drove into/through a big enough dip/hole/crater (the rest of us saw it and apparently she didn't) that the force/compression or everything ended up cracking the right rear quarter panel window. It just spider webbed all the way through and slowly started falling out over the next 1-2 weeks.
At some other point i broke the wheel bearing. I was tearing ass across one of the open fields I usually would. But there were two common trails/tracks people used across this field. One had a clean straight shot to the main road. The other ended up having a thin, but sudden dip just before the main road. I thought I was on the other one. I was not. I saw it at the last minute, plowed over it and knew it wasn't great. It drove just fine for awhile, but once I cracked the bearing it was just a waiting game as it slowly got worse. Outside of that and considering the hell I put that thing through, I wouldn't mind having a Yukon XL in the states.

Wedding or Funeral?
So a really close friend of mine (he was in my wedding and was living with me when he started dating his fiance) is getting married on the same day as my wife's grandfather's memorial service - the events are in different cities on the same day. Which one should I go to and why?
Also, Chuzzle, the wedding will likely have a cash bar.My Journal (RIP 05/11 - 09/13):

Cash bar = meh. Getting drunk at the wake will probably prove better.

Charles, what were you referring to with this:
"edit: It also warms my heart that you adjust your post from quoting TAAB and saying something about his dp having "lower bar squats" and 5 minute rest periods, to quoting me about your misuse and ignorance of common BBing terminology."Who was this love of yours?

His first post was quoting you. Something about you probably not doing olympic lifting. Then said he checked your dp (not sure what that is) and something about you having lots of "lower bar squats and 5 minute rest periods".
Then he apparently edited his entire post to quote me with something entirely different.-

lol I don't think I've contributed to his redness at all, but I have taken note of him quite a few times and I am sure you could count on one hand the times that I read his posts and did not think "yep, no question why he is red."
You're crazy, man. I like you, but you're crazy.-

I think this is what we are planning on doing now, but I am definitely worried about this:
If I miss the funeral, my wife's grandmother MIGHT notice and MIGHT be upset for the next couple years. If I miss my buddy's wedding - pissed at me for the rest of my life.My Journal (RIP 05/11 - 09/13):

We should make out.
So, which of these is more important to you? That your wife's grandmother MIGHT be upset or that you'll miss a major life milestone of a close friend? Really only you can answer that one.-
