    What is the average man's bench press?

    I know the average man's height is around 5'9"-5'10" in the US, but what about the bench press? Or better yet what can men do without any weight training?

    No weight lifting experience at all? I would honestly say like 65 lbs. I've seen guys who can't even do the bar.

    Yeah see, about a month ago my older brother started lifting with me with no prior lifting. He's a little overweight, 6'1" 240lbs. He was maxing out at 90lbs for 4 reps.

    Like other posters said, its appaeently ~130. I spoke to one guy who took his mates to the gym. He said they could hardly bench the bar. They were fully grown men as well.

    Any man/kid could lift the bar. Even the skinniest of stickboys i see at the gym can do around 75 pounds, so an average man should easily be able to do 100 without any experience. I however remember struggling to get 95 pounds my first time. But i was skinny as hell cuz.

    When I was 15 I did 135lb for a 1 rep max on decline bench the first day I went to high school gym.

    A skinny friend of mine (about 100lbs, srs, he skinny asian, no racist, he friend) could do 65lb on flat bench maybe 5 reps and was pretty tired.

    that was my max when i started working out
    so im guessing around that weight
