To be a Premier Athlete you would think he would "look" like he is in better shape i would say probably 9-12% BF and im sure he does 0 arm exercise's because i am sure it would effect your shot. Going to assume TONS of agility and footwork drills.

If you're talking about a realistic number (i.e. with a hydrostatic test) and not one of those bullsh*t caliper percentages where every second dude thinks he's at 5% because he has abs, then I'd say somewhere around 12%, but it's just a guess.

My guess is 12 %. No idea what his workout is like, pretty sure it is sport specific though for basketball. Since I played baseball and not basketball, no idea where to start.

Thats broscience to the fullest my friend. It would effect his shot if he went to shoot right afterwards. You really think he does absolutely no arm exercises? Come on dude...

Who cares how he works out? The man is a total freak of nature.
    Student.

Currently in the midst of a mac and cheese + hamburger helper bulk. Come at me, bodyfat.

When I am a lean 220+ then maybe I'll have an avatar, until then: foreverfaceless.jpg

    I rep back.

I agree. If you look at his body type he isn't a genetic freak. ****, I dont even think he looks all that great. But he put in TONS of hard work pertaining to basketball and obviously it works.

Are you kidding, he has wide shoulders, great posture for his size, thick bones, and can obviously put on muscle. He is not a genetic freak by any means, but good genetics plays an important role in determining athletic potential.

Rulon Gardner. Good genetics for what though? Having a nice looking physique? Perhaps not. But for athletic performance, the man is a beast.

Everyone stores fat differently. It's utterly useless and a complete waste of time to try to guess someone's bodyfat via a picture, unless you're asking for a range of at least a few points.

Let's all try to guess how much he benches next!

but srsly, pro athletes have GOOD genetics....they simply get great training/nutrtition from age 4+ (which many confuse 20 years later as freakish genetics, they simply fail to see/know what they did the 15 years prior to becoming famous)...its like, no, they had a good upbringing, good training, coaching, and a dash of luck.

I'd say 13-14%. If he posted a picture of himself indoors, was white with the same body and posted it at bb.com and asked the people here what his % was, everyone would say at least 16%.

but srsly, pro athletes have GOOD genetics....they simply get great training/nutrtition from age 4+ (which many confuse 20 years later as freakish genetics, they simply fail to see/know what they did the 15 years prior to becoming famous)...its like, no, they had a good upbringing, good training, coaching, and a dash of luck.
Its called observation, not everything requires a scientific study. Some of us have what is called logic.

Also, when did i ever say additional aspects such as training ect werent neccessary? I said it plays a role which it does.

breathing plays a role as well, less broad statements please.

theres far more athletes with better genetics that never go pro, due to change in life plans, injuries, etc.

to say all pro athletes or even a majority have better-then-good genetics is bogus. thats like you saying you can never become a pro athlete, if you think like that you will fall short my friend.

Having a low bodyfat is not necessarily optimal for athletic performance. Walking around @ 8% bodyfat woulld probably do him more harm than good (unless that's how much fat he carried "naturally")

If Lebron trained for asthetics, He would probably blow us all out of the water.

What about good genetics + hard work? *gasp* What a novel concept.

I can use a perfect example of how genetics plays a role.

Austin Kearns in MLB. He was a 1st round draft pick. Great player in lower tiered ball. One of the hardest workers and puts forth tons of effort throughout practices, games, his work ethic is ridiculous. But he is a mediocre professional baseball player. Hard work can only take you so far.

Just like Roddy White, professional wide receiver in NFL. His first couple seasons in the NFL he was labeled a bust. He had fantastic genetics, but zero work ethic. He was always hungover in practice, didn't care, went out partied, because he never had to try in college. He would dominate those kids. Got into the NFL when everyone is near the top of the game, and he found out he actually had to bust his ass and put in the effort to perform adequately. Now look at him. Genetics + Hard work = success.

one or the other = substandard results.
