This is awesome.
I think he's starting to admit the point and decipher the difference between what is preferrable and what he perceives as optimal. We're getting there, we're getting there.

Not 1 bit....IF/lean gains/whatever the f you guys call it CAN work for some people...IMO women and guys cutting on low cals. Athlete's, competitive bodybuilder's, people who take their workout's very serious should be eating more then 1-2 meals a day. Simple as that. I promote/preach more then just changing your body composition....what about health? Where has that gone? No one seems to care about that anymore just as long as I "hit my macros and micros BRO". Stupid.....People who are concerned about health and dont wanna consume a bunch of crap preservatives, simple sugars, food additives etc etc, dont wanna hear about IIFYM.

You have any idea what it would be like to say to the hundreds of overweight people I have worked with that struggle with snacking, binge eating, horrible food choices and know nothing about nutrition to say to them "here's your macro's for the day...eat whatever you want as long as you hit those number's". They need a structured plan to follow, something to help guide them. IIFYM is for someone who has a huge amount of will power to hit those numbers everyday and not over do it.

- I'm not a big fan of IF, but won;t make blanket statements (like you have previously in the thread) demonizing it
- If someone is too dumb to realize iifym doesn't mean eat sugar whey and butter all day, then sorry. No one here says anything extreme like that.
What's more psychologically unhealthy?:
-Thinking you an only eat chicken, rice, and broccoli all in your 6 meals per day and freaking out when you stumble?
-Or realizing that it's acceptable to eat a handful of M&M's or to skip a meal or two because your busy and have to worry about your gainz disappearing?
I think the latter would lead to much more enjoyable, healthy lifestyle.

Firstly, this is really getting away from you trying to point out that there was a particular way to look a certain way. You are creeping towards it being around preference of the individual...so we're getting a step closer.
Secondly, IIFYM is about an individual eating his/her food when he/she wants and that not negatively affecting the individual, assuming he/she hits his/her macros. You were saying earlier, that this is not ok for great body composition. You have the pictures now right? The ones above? Did it work for them, or is there once again, something wrong with those now?
Thirdly, no IIFYMer or IFer ever ever ever says you have to eat 1 meal a day, or 2 meals a day, or 3 meals a day ... it is these guys that say you can eat 8 meals a day if that's what you prefer and fits best with your schedule.
It is the likes of yourself that force the less knowledgeable into believing that they have to eat so often, so not realising they don't have to eat that often, they purchase your products later on because they can't fit solid foods into a completely unadvantageous (directly to body composition) meal schedule.
It is the opposites of you that your trainees would be better off with, because those trainees would then not be forced to a set meal plan! They could eat when was preferential to them, still consuming the correct cals and macros by the end of the day, and finish with the same result, and not repeatedly feel unworthy because they haven't stuck to an arbitrary diet!Last edited by layarph; 11-07-2012 at 06:41 AM.

Just admit when you are wrong.
The information you think you know is outdated and proven to be unnecessary. Are you seriously saying eat 4meals a day will yield less results than if you ate the same amount in 6meals a day?
And you can be healthy a follow a flexible diet. You clearly have no understanding of what it is. You sir, are an idiot.Sports Science & Health Undergraduate

Are you aware that there aren't enough words in the english language- hell, the entire lexicon of languages the world over- to describe how incredibly wrong this is. Not only is it wrong in that it is ignorant, but in that it is so incredibly incorrect on a factual level. Holy ****ing God, how stupid can a human being get? In my life I've encountered people who have been unintelligent, yes- I've encountered my share of people who suffered from mental disabilities. People with downs syndrome, autism, and so on. However, I have never once encounted somehow so stupid as to be capable of thinking something so unbelievably off-base. I didn't even think it possible that anyone in our plain of existence could ever even have the capacity for this level of idiocy

I think we are all missing the point. Its not whether or not a person eats 1 meal, 2 meals, 4 meals or 6 meals that matters. Everyone has to find a balance in life that suits them and their lifestyle and quality of life. Is 6 meals better than 2 or 3 or 4 ??? Who really knows. And the bottom line is that the difference, if any, is probably so small. So what matters most is that you enjoy your life because life is short and meant to be enjoyed. And when you're on a time clock to get 6 meals in you everyday, i feel like that doesnt give you the best enjoyment of your time. Even if 6 meals a day is marginally better......I'd personlaly rather sacrifice that 1/8 of an inch difference on my arms to know that I am enjoying life and still staying in great shape.
