The amount of men in this thread saying he shouldn't say things like that is disgusting. They all compete to be the best, to be better than every other competitor. That quote about "being a victor without victims" was completely retarded. He is the BEST THAT EVER WAS in the sport this sub-forum is dedicated to, he can judge any man that steps on the Olympia stage as he pleases.

You said "There's more wow factor today than there was from the early 2000's to 2010" and that the "Ronnie vs Jay years were a joke"
Early 2000's:
2001 Jay got second. Kevin 3rd, Shawn 4th, Chris 5th. Ronnie captured his 4th title.
2002 Jay did not compete. Kevin 2nd, Chris 3rd. Ronnie captured his 5th title.
I don't see the joke. More of a wow factor in 2001 and 2002 than today, and if I include 2000 as part of the "early 2000's" there's even more of a wow factor. Ronnie beat legends during their prime for more than half his titles. His competition > today's competition.
2003 Kevin placed 6th and 2004 Cormier placed 7th. Not Ronnie's fault they could no longer compete with him. Their overall physiques however could compete with today's competition.

I don't get how Jay has so extremely little detail on his arms when having a contest bodyfat level. Rons arms are abusing Jay in the FDB.

I don't see how 2002 is a "Ronnie vs. Jay" year, if Jay wasn't competing. Also you said it yourself: Kevin 2003 and Cormier 2004 were already past their prime, so no real competition there either.
Nobody is saying Ronnie isn't the GOAT, actually quite the opposite: He is indeed the GOAT, plus was pretty unrivaled during his Olympia reign, particularly from 2001 on.
Thus: Yeah, the "Ronnie vs. Jay" years were a joke.Sports Therapy- & Prevention Major - University of Potsdam

MuscleMag just posted the interview of Ronnie on their website: http://www.musclemag.com/culture/ron.../#.UOH1A-TLSSo
“Have you seen some of them train?” asks Ronnie when referring to the current crop of pro bodybuilders. “I would’ve destroyed Phil Heath in my day. He can’t compare to what I was. Bodybuilders of today aren’t like the bodybuilders of our day. Physiques were a lot better in our time. This era coming up here, I’m not impressed with nobody."
“You’ve got Phil Heath and Kai Greene and they just all seem kind of average to me. There’s nothing that’s ‘Wow’ about their physiques. Not the shape, not the symmetry. Nothing blows me away about these guys.”
Metroflex’s Dobson agrees. While he feels that Heath lives up to his nickname (The Gift) and might be one of the most genetically gifted athletes to ever put on a pair of posing trunks, Brian feels that the whole package — the size, the intensity — pales in comparison to Coleman’s, whose competition weight was 15 pounds heavier than Heath’s offseason weight.
“When you look at pictures of Ronnie and then look at some of the top guys now, you can’t comprehend how much bigger he was than these guys,” says Brian. “Phil Heath’s whole shoulder structure would fit within the span of Ronnie’s pecs. Everything on Ronnie is just bigger. If they competed at the same time, Phil Heath would’ve looked like a little boy next to him.”
“I’d rank him (Ronnie)as number one of all time. I can’t even believe anyone wouldn’t have him as number one,” says Brian. “Arnold won Mr. Olympia seven times when there were eight bodybuilders in the whole world.”Legends Of Bodybuilding!!! 1000's OF PICS OF YOUR FAVOURITE BODYBUILDERS!!!

I read the article, and what Ronnie said is the truth and people need to accept it. I keep hearing about all these "next Ronnie" guys and we all know its never gonna happen. DEFINITELY not Phil! Victor would have been a great successor to Ronnie's reign but bad luck put an end to that unfortunately.
For those of us who follow Ronnie we know that Ronnie has never been afraid to speak his mind, he's not controversial but has always thrown in digs here and there over the years in a playful way. He's said Jay has an ugly physique, Dexter's a "little guy", Markus Ruhl's "fat albert" etc. Bodybuilding's not a vast enough sport to be politically correct in interviews. In the NFL if somebody made these comments it'd be breaking news on ESPN sadly enough. This sport is called bodybuilding and if we're not building our bodies, what is there to see? Shucks, you want to see some small symmetrical guys, then turn on the TV and watch Survivor or Fear Factor. -Ronnie Coleman

Coleman was the best because of genetics but also because he trained harder than any bodybuilder I've ever seen. His DVD "Unbelievable" came out over ten years ago, but we haven't seen a pro's training come even close to that since then. Where are the vids now of pros doing 200lb db press, front squat 495 for 10, 800lb deadlifts and 500lb bent rows? I can only think of a handful of pros that really train hard. Evan, Ben Pakulski, and Kai (sometimes) come to mind but they are not doing Ronnie numbers. I don't think people give Coleman enough credit sometimes for the way he pushed himself in the gym. He trained like an animal.

They are winning shows in this ERA but they are less likely to have won shows in Colemans ERA. The things Ronnie said were true- FACT Ronnie had more size and equal if not better conditioning than any of the current line up.
The only one I can see potentially challenging this is CEDRIC who has that WOW factor but in a different way from Coleman.TEAM WOLF + TEAM KAI +TEAM CEDRIC + TEAM ROMGLE - TEAM RAMY - TEAM FAIR JUDGING

In all honesty Ronnie speaks the truth, as of right now no one can touch what Ronnie was, but there is still time, these young cats are either younger or the same age when Ronnie won his first Olympia. As far as inhuman muscle, Kai is on that summit, he closely represents what made Coleman so great, size/detail/conditioning.. not there yet but posseses such traits, Phil is another beast completely, maybe no one will ever top coleman.. but that doesnt take anything away from current competitors or their accomplishments.
Unlike other sport greats where you are more often that not defined by the competition in your era, you can translate greatness in bodybuilding.. and Coleman transcends.
