Are you compairing the importance of forearm isolation to your entire back? Most ppl would agree that forearm training is not a must and that forearms are trained reguraly in other work outs. As you get more advanced and want to start working on body symmetry then yes, you need to build your forearms.
It also depends on your goals, do you want to build an impressive physique with massive forearms to go with your monster calves? Or are you asking whether or not you need to include 8 sets of forearms in a training day as part of your regular work out? If your not a serious and close to advanced bodybuilder once every two weeks will do just fine. Stay away from machines and your forearms will naturally get stronger!
