Hey all, I take a Zinc powder from ethical nutrients that contains roughly 65mg of zinc and 240mg or so of magnesium. So it's close to being a ZMA supplement in itself. I heard that it can play a role in increasing testosterone levels, I plan to take it before bed to help with recovery and general well being. I used to take it years ago but that was way before I actually started exercising, so now I have an added use for it especially if it does indeed increase test. levels.
Also I've looked around and many are stating they get wild dreams from it, so I guess I'll find out tonight if that is the case.

The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for zinc is 11 mg/day for men and 8 mg/day for women.
According to the Toxnet database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the oral LD50 for zinc is close to 3 g/kg body weight. OP weighs 61.8 kg, so the oral LD50 for zinc for OP would be 185.4 grams.
OP, how does your gastrointestinal system feel after you ingest one gram of zinc?

Zinc does not increase testosterone, not sure where people get the idea that vitamins or minerals increase testosterone. Taking enough of zinc, vitamin d, etc will simply maximize your testosterone output too what it should be. For most people that level is well above the RDA which is why the claims of zinc raising have become popular, because most people probably don't get enough zinc which plays a vital role in hormone levels.

supplementing zinc is a good idea because its rarely found in large amounts in any food (only 1 I can think of is oysters) when taking a high dose be careful i have read it can affect the absorption of copper in your body and I recall a study that said taking over the recommended amount has a negative impact on cholesterol levels.

Sounds like a good way to become copper deficient.
Which will lead you to all sorts of problems down the road.
I personally wouldn't go much higher than 30-50mg daily.. and would most certainly supplement with copper in conjunction with it.
Zinc and copper work in pairs.. When you supplement too much with one it will begin to deplete the other.
Something to keep in mind.

Of course I do mate, I usually take zinc all the time as it's good to keep a healthy immune system and so forth, but whilst I was on the internet a few topics of it were brought up and I just wanted to know if it could actually do that. I don't take it for the purpose of test at all, that was the last thing on my mind.

Zinc deficiency does more than lower testosterone levels. It's a main component in a ton of enzymes that aid in a ton of reactions. But you should be getting your daily dose of it i'm sure unless you have a disorder.
