How long does it take you to cut?

I've been cutting for 9 weeks now and I'm only down 10-13lbs, my goal is to lose a total of 25 and by the looks of it it will be nearly 5 months by the time that is all gone spent cutting. Is it this slow for everyone els?

I've been cutting since July. It's been the slowest cut ever because I've allowed myself to not give a single fuk for birthdays, vacations, and family get togethers. Still, down 20lbs in 4 months isn't too bad. I'm in full steam ahead mode till Thanksgiving right now and trying to drop 2lbs per week.

I'm interested in this too, actually. I've been cutting for 6 weeks so far and I think realistically I'm looking at at least 12+ weeks to go, I THINK I'm at about 13% right now, don't really know for sure though. pics are in NFTT thread if anyone wants to give an estimate

This is me now. I always used to try to cut at a normal-fast pace, but I realized I shouldn't have to restrict myself during big social events. Been cutting since Aug 31, and only plan to for about another 3 weeks (I'll still probably be the same bf ). I have dropped from 20% to 13% and have dropped 20 lbs, so I'm content. To be honest, the reason I want to stop my cut is because 1. I am realizing my lack of muscle mass and 2. I miss eating 2800+ cals a day

one of the absolute best things I think is to increase activity. I used to not do much and losing sucked d!ck, my activity has now substantially increased - and in turn so has calories and it honestly doesn't feel like I'm cutting, in fact I feel pretty much as good as I did while bulking!

I do 60+ mins of LISS cardio (usually just high incline walking on the tready) and use the time to catch up on uni readings, it's awesomely efficient

You're right... that WOULD actually be the best thing for me... it would make me stop being so damn lazy . Maybe next semester when I'm not stacking 2 extremely difficult science classes. I'm sure I'll make up another damn excuse though.

20 pounds in 6 months. Thinking back on it now I'm dreading a cut again come Feb/March, but it will need to be done. Will be looking to shed 15 pounds in 4 months

I was on that boat for awhile, riding my bike 60 miniutes a day just so i could eat an extra 400 calories... Now I just PSMF on my off days so 2x a week at <1400 cal, and I can eat just maint on workout days.

I just started cutting again (10 to go) because I decided I'd rather drop the remaining fat now over post-bulk. I'm aiming for 1 lb / wk too so yes - forever lol.

    Cut 60 in 7-8 months this year. I was a fatty. Willnotdoagain/10

this question is pretty broad. It all depends on how much you're trying to lose. When I bulk I never try to exceed 14% bodyfat and it takes me about 4 months to cut that fat. .8-1 pound per week, ~15 pounds.

during my last cut, 1.5-1 lb a week for 5 months... totaling to about 30 lbs.

I didn't even really track on Saturdays too, just ballparked it around my maintenance with about 130 g of protein.

    Goodnight sweet muscle/hormones/sanity.

I'm pretty strict calorically except when I have a planned event. On my bulk I've stayed ~30 calories of my target and on my cut it would usually be under 10.

That rigidity isn't necessary or even good for most, but it does create pretty linear progression and easier adjustments

Depends....if I'm just trying to tighten up, it takes a couple months and I drop maybe 5-7lbs, if it's a cut then 1lb per week, maybe more at the very beginning....I just started a cut till Christmas time and for holiday times I'm just going to go with maintenance or high/low days to accommodate all the parties and family time.

It depends on how many people I'm cutting and how many times I have to cut them.

Seriously though, I usually shoot for about 1 pound a week until I hit 12% then I shoot for .5 lbs per week.

    Real life WTF?

I lost 60 in about 10 months, the last 2 months were pretty slow though.

I do 12 week cuts now.

I am onto week 14 of dieting and I've lost just under 18-19 pounds so far, probably another 8-10 to get to were I want to be which I think will take another 6 weeks at the least.

First cut was 32lbs in 6 months and my current cut (I'm in my 6th week) I've lost 10lbs. Feel like this is never going to end but I'm planning on it all being over in May. I hope.
“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

I aim for 1.5 pound loss per week - some weeks it'll be less, some weeks more. Average is 1.5 pounds per week. Few more months to go.
