    Quads - Getting the TearDrop

My thighs are getting nice and big but I am really missing the teardrop down by the knee...in my opinion this is what sets an athletes set of legs above the average guy so its really disappointing me

For those that don't know what I mean:

Do I just need to squat more and get bigger legs or is that some secret to getting the teardrop

So I am going to substitute Back Squats for Front Squats (veeeeery deep) for the next 9 weeks of my 5x5 program

I'm also going to try these "sissy" squats and start holding my leg extensions at the top (which I have heard develops these)

See any problems with that guys?

Oh and will my back squat increase in relation to my front squat?

just change your stance, close stance works the outer part of your legs more, whereas a wider stance hits more of the inner leg and teardrop region.
There is no reason to live if you cannot do the deadlift

ATG squats are supposed to be the exercise that develops that teardrop quad muscle.

hack squats and leg extensions. leg extensions are usually hated, but they bring out the most definition out of any exercise in my opinion.

Well ATG squats are my all time favorite exercise and I am always working and getting more flexibility (I already go well past parallel but I still think I can go further)

But...If I just continue doing my squats and not changing anything up...won't the thing just keep getting bigger and the teardrop will always be lagging?

Do you usually hold them at the very top of the motion? Or just smooth all the way thru? Cause I can already rep the max weight on my gyms leg extensions for like 5-6

i think it's referring to this shape made from your knees and lower quads ... and from the looks, you'd have to go deeper in your squats, when i do i feel it up there, and it makes sense that it'd have to recruit the area of your quads by your knees to lift yourself from the squat. i also think you need low body fat percentage, otherwise it wouldn't really give the tear shape.

for me, i've had a decent teardrop for as long as i can remember before i started squatting about a year ago. quad extensions are a good exercise for that i think.
