11/9/2012 SS week 3 session A
My wrist is really damn sore still. I tried to bench but with just the bar it was painful. I ended up skipping bench for today, but still got squats and deads dones.
Squat:
2X5@45
1X5@100
1X3@150
1X2@200
3X5@255
*Squats are starting to require a touch more rest between sets. Weight isnt heavy yet nor have I missed a rep, just starting to get winded after sets.
Deadlift:
1X5@135
1X3@225
1X2@315
1X5@350
1X1@405
*Deads are still rather easy so I pulled an easy single with 405 because its been awhile since I touched something in the 400lb range.★cVc★

Thanks colo^
11/10 Strongman training
Got to check out our new location. Its pretty awesome. We used to train out of a shed at a superbly brotastic gym. We now train out of a big storage unit on a quiet street. The best part is not trying to tetris fit all the equipment back in at the end of the day.
Yoke walks:
worked up to 500 for about 50ish feet. Felt pretty decent for not touching a yoke in a long time.
Farmers:
Worked up to 185 a hand. Felt good considering how long its been since I did them
Frame deadlift:
Loaded our car dl frame up with a 240, 270, and 320 atlas stone, a 300lb keg, and a 350lb tire. Pulled it for a few reps then held for time. Felt pretty good. Then we added 90lbs to the handles and held for time. Then another 90 lbs and I couldnt pick it.
car dl chain suspended squat lift type thing:
Ok this is gonna be complicated but same set up as for deadlift but using chains and a bb starting from the hole position. Got it up with just the frame and then again with 90 added to the handles, but couldnt get it with 180 on the handles.
It was a fun day and just more of a screwing around type of session than anything, but it felt good to train events again. Its been awhile since I did that.★cVc★

Updates:
Decided to take a week off and rest my wrist. Its not really feeling any better, so I will probably just lift through it starting on Monday.
i am gonna make a small programming tweek. I am gonna still run SS, just modify it a touch with a hypertrophy full body workout on wednesdays instead of what I have been doing. I will do the A workout on Monday, hypertrophy on wed, them B workout on Friday(skipping cleans until wrist is healed).
Took my dogs for a roughly 3 mile walk today just to get some blood moving and because I was out of skoal. Will do some kind of workout as well tomorrow.★cVc★

hope your wrist heals, brah, so you can get back into the hardcore training
hearing "skoal" makes me want some grizzlyThe muscles i value most are the ones directly surrounding the spine, the hips, the scapula, the femur and the tibia... in that order.
Basically the whole body minus chest and biceps... pretty much the opposite of what your local gym looks like on a typical Monday.

11/19/2012 squat and deadlift maxing
squat:
135X5
245X5
335X2
365X1
415X1 buried and smooth
deadlift:
135X3
225X3
315X3
405X2
455X1 easy peasy just running out of gas

Going to start running the inverted jugg method on Wednesday. My wrist is still fuked, but I can still squat and deadlift and some variety will be good because SS is so boring.★cVc★

Programming changes, the plan, and going forward.
So after doing a ME session with squat and deadlift, I have a good idea where to start with the Inverted Juggernaut method using the undulating philosophy.
Squat: 1rm was 415. Training max will be 373.
Deadlift: 1rm was 455. Training max will be 400.
First week looks like this:
Tuesday-Squat Accumulation:
Squat-10X@225 with 60 seconds between sets
Leg Press-5X20@sled plus 200lbs
Zombie Squats-3X5 at undetermined weight
Some type of explosive training
Saturday-Deadlift Accumulation:
Deadlift-8X5@245
RDL-3X3@315
Shrugs-5X5@315
Explosive training
Life Updates-As of today, I will be working on Thursdays and Fridays on the road so I will try to hit up some conditioning at the hotel on the other end, depending on sleep. That gym there sucks, but they have a semi functional treadmill to do some sprints on. My wrist is still bothering me, but is feeling much better than it was. I was planning on hitting the gym today, but I am waiting for the plumber to get here to fix the drain back up on my washing machine. I am still hoping to get squats in today, but it will all depend on a damn plumber. If I get squats in today, I will try to get deads in wednesday and hopefully some events in Sunday.Last edited by austin.j.taylor; 11-26-2012 at 10:57 AM.

So it's the bastard child of a Front Squat and a Zercher squat.
