Seen very few results in the year that I've been training.
My diet isn't 100%, as there seems to be lots of contradictory information about it on these forums.
Spoke to a fella I used to be know fairly well the other day and he's made massive gains and assured me that his diet isn't 100% either.
He put his gains down to using steroids, and said if he hadn't used them in the early days then he would have given up pretty soon.
I'm not interested in advice about what steroids to use, just whether anybody else has used them when starting out to see gains so that they don't lose motivation and become disillusioned with weight training?
Please consider that I'm in my thirties, not 18-21, so age is working against me, and I'm not particularly strong to begin with.

I don't get what you're trying to accomplish. If you want to get bigger and stronger, it's very simple (but not easy). Eat a daily caloric surplus and lift heavy, getting stronger for reps in the main compound movements.
This diet 100% nonsense, kills me. What's a 100% diet? You're either eating enough to gain weight and get stronger, eating at maintenance, or eating a deficit to lose weight.Goals:
1.5 bw Bench
2.0+ bw Squat
2.5 bw Deadlift
Gain 20 lbs

Even if you took steroids and your diet and training were not in check you would not make amazing progress. Sure you might gain a few pounds on cycle but when on PCT you will lose pretty much everything you gained.

Diet is very important to me. When I've gained muscle in the past I've gained it alongside fat at a 1:1 ratio.
When I do this, when I try to lose the fat and retain the muscle I have lost all the muscle but only half the fat.
I can't be arsed wasting my time and money in the gym yo-going between fat and skinny/fat. Obviously the diet and training I'm doing aren't correct so for my genetics, body-type or whatever it's called I need a little help.
I couldn't give a toss if it's considered cheating or not, I want to know if any other beginners have used to see fast resilults when everything else they've tries it a waste of time.
I don't want to give up on my body, but I'm running on empty now because everything I've tried hasn't worked.
All the people who've had results without using, well done to yourselves, but that doesn't help me out and hats good for somebody else anint necessarily good for me.

You can grow as though you're on steroids if you do the proper training and don't eat like a starving pigeon.
It's your choice, though. I don't really care.550/385/655, 285 overhead press, 330 push jerk, 250 weighted dip, 190 weighted pull-up, 413.8 max weighted pull-up, 450 front squat, 365 RFESS, 305 x 2 log press, 400 (per arm) farmer's carry, 370 atlas stone, 31 pull-ups at 247.
