Thanks for following along. Yeah, 1.5 gallons is a lot. I'm good at a gallon, but it becomes quite the effort to get more than that. I really hate going all the time, it's really annoying.

Whew! Barely made it! Thought my gym closed at 6 today, but apparently it closed at 4. I got there at like 2:30. Had every intention of taking my time and being in my oasis (work was beyond nuts this morning). Luckily, I meandered out of there shortly after 4, so I didn't make the girl too late. I was wondering why I was the only one in there. haha.

Workout - Back - This is my own workout. My coach is out of town, so I haven't had a chance to discuss with her the training program she has set up for me, but I went for higher reps, but exercises I like and do well with.

    Pendlay Rows
    95x8
    95x5
135x8 - jumped up too much too soon. Didn't like how these were feeling, probably not warmed up enough at this point. No biggie, moving on.

    Lat Pulldowns
    3x10x120 - toughies

Single Arm Low Cable Rows -aka lawn mowers
    3x15x50 - love these!!!!

    Wide/Neutral Grip seated cable rows
    3x12x90

Hammer Strength Iso Row with Reverse Grip
3x15x45s(each side) - These really get the outside lats and biceps IMO

    T-bar row with V-grip
    3x12x50 - brutal finisher

    10 minutes on bike.

Overall it was a great workout. I got winded from most of the lifts and I felt the reps were high enough. My goal is to jot this down and then progress by doing these exercises and a later date, trying to get 3x15 on all of them, and once I do move up in weight and try for 3x10 and progress to 3x12, 3x15 and repeat the cycle. Really don't want to do more than 15 reps mainly due to wear and tear on the joints.

Merry Christmas everyone! If you are bored tomorrow or want to steal a break from the fan, stop in here sometime in the afternoon and I should have a nice little surprise for everyone (fingers crossed)

Thanks everyone for the Xmas wishes. I am working EMS today, but as my own way of saying thank you to all civil service, nurses, and most importantly troops overseas unable to be with their families today, I did a workout. The BEST part is that a winter storm blew in, so the run was outside, half of it straight into a blistering 40mph wind with blowing snow and slick roads. No matter, that's nothing compared to being in a war zone or getting shot at. So, thank you.

    Murph

    1 mile run
    100 pushups
    200 air squats
    300 situps
    1 mile run

I modified the pushups to girl pushups, but that shiz was still hard and ended up doing crunches, simply because I was doing them on concrete and didn't think my tailbone would appreciate full situps. I actually finished in 43:41. The route was a tad short of a mile, and then as I am turning the corner heading straight into the wind, about .3 miles away from the station, I hear a couple of sirens. I was already gasping, but of course I thought I missed a call, so I haul ass back to the station, all sweaty. Luckily I didn't miss our call, but the fire had been called out so I had to try and get changed in case we got called out. Took a quick french shower, and sure enough we get called out. Get en route, and then get cancelled. Go figure. lol. It just reaffirms why I use my EMS days as rest days. haha. Eventful is eventful.

Overall I am happy, and even more happy I did it. Almost talked myself out of it, but the men/women in uniform talked me back into it.

Ok, so I was somewhat looking forward to work today, simply because my partner is a bikini competitor and her husband is a bodybuilder. So we are talking and it's nice to have someone else who understands why I can't have the enchiladas that the police department is having next door. lol. That was until she wakes up from her nap, tells me she has missed two meals, eats her next meal, then tells me she is hungry. I say, well, double up on one of your missed meals. "But, I can't, that would be like 600 calories." I say, "And what's wrong with that." She then says, "Well, I can only have 30 grams of protein at a time, the rest will just turn to fat."

FACEPALM.jpg. OMG!!!! Seriously. Sad day. At leat she's a nice person.

Oh, I hate everything about the cold/yucky weather. The only time it is acceptable to be snowing is if I am skiing on it, and even then it has to be about 40 when I'm out there. I hate it, hate it, hate it.

Lulz at 30 grams at a time. I used to think the same thing.
yeah, I used to kind of think that as well, because I read it somewhere. Then I read an article from Alan Aragon on the exact subject and it really made sense, plus he has about a bajillion research articles and tests to back it up. So there's that. This girl was something else I tell ya. I mean, I like reading the magazines as well, and often try some of the workouts out, but I don't take them as my new bible either. She did make me see though, why I have such a hard time just "doing what I'm told, and trusting the process." Because if I don't question some or a lot of these things like why my current coach won't allow shrimp or scallops and why lean pork loin is not a viable protein choice for me, then I get to go around saying "it will just turn to fat." and want to do two cardio sessions a day because it's not working fast enough (yes, she said this too). Ugh, enough to make my head hurt. I'm going nighty night.

So, today was my families Christmas, since me and my sister both had to work on Christmas. I did not use it as a cheat day, but did vary on my meals, and even had a single bite of pumpkin pie. But, overall just lots of turkey and green beans. Pretty sure I am still way under for the day. No biggie. I did get in a workout this morning, and the scale was being very nice, so I can't wait to see what it says on Sunday (official weigh-in day).

    Today's workout: Chest

    Bench Press
4x12x95 - that last set was tough, and damn near needed a drop on the last rep. But I goter done.

    DB Incline Press
    2x15x30
1x8x30 - felt my left shoulder pop a bit, and couldn't recover so I laid off. Pretty sure it just rubbed over my enlarged tendon the wrong way and aggravated it. Moved on.

    Assisted Dips
    3x12x90 (that's the assisted weight)

    Single Arm Rope Pressdown
3x15x20 - these are Freaking hard!

    DB Floor Press
    3x12x35s

CArdio - 10 minutes of 45 second work/15 second rest, alternating between
    Battling Rope
    Jump Rope

    10 minutes recumbent bike

The not allowing shrimp or scallops could be a sodium issue, might be wrong on that.

    Workout - Shoulders, quickie

    Seat DB Press
    3x20x20 (10 alternating reps, 10 together)

    Face Pulls
    3x15x70/80/80

    Leaning Lateral Raise
    3x15x10lb each arm

Head supported bent over reverse flies
    3x30x10lb DB - Basically I do 10 like a Y, 10 like a T, and 10 like and upside down Y. Really burns.

    Hang Cleans
    45x8
    65x8
    95x5
    115x5
135x3 half attempts. I think it was more psychological than anything else. Also, didn't feel really good with my grip.

    Cardio - Row 1,000 meters, Time: 3:57

Decent workout. Best part is I forced myself to go after working all day. I really hate going to my gym after 3 p.m., but I guess since it's the "holiday" season it wasn't as busy.

Nutrition is on point. Can't wait to weigh-in on Sunday.

Nice volume on bp and nice hang cleans! Is it wrong I totally lost it at "enlarged tendon"? Question on the db floor press - how do you get the dbs back down when you're done? Trying to picture this and I don't understand. For bb floor press I think people do it in a rack off of the lowest safety?

At the lowest safety, that is a bottom half press. Basically, movement starts from the bottom and then you reset every rep. A floor press is a top half movement because your arms can't go below parallel.

I think it sounds lame myself, but look up tendonopathy. It's what I have. Kind of annoying really.

What he said. I will try and get a vid next time I do them. It really hits the triceps hard.

Workout today - Deadlift. Worked out with Chris. His hang clean weights were my deadlift weights. Yeah.

    Deadlift
    95x10
    135x8
    185x8
    225x6
    245x5
    265x5
    185x15

Bird Feeders - single leg romanian deadlifts
3x10x30s in each hand. Talk about ass cramp.

Glute-ham raises - getting better at these
    3x5 - I was already toast

    20 minutes on airdyne bike

Tomorrow I plan to go fora 3 mile run to see what my time is. My goal for the police academy is to pass their PT test first time up (you get three tries throughout the academy). I need to be under 30 minutes for 3 miles. I'm pretty sure I am close to that now, so we will see. Should be interesting seeing as how my lower back will be fried from today.

Um, yeah, no run today. 1-too cold. 2-too sore. My ass hurts soo bad from those deadlifts yesterday.

Did weigh-in today. 2 week results:

    dropped 8 pounds
    dropped 2% BF
dropped a few inches all over

All in all success. Now it's time for my well-earned pizza and then get back at it tomorrow.

Ok, so I just had dominos pizza as my cheat meal, and while the first few bites were good, I know I am going to pay the price later. Just saying this on here: No more pizza cheat meals. Definitely not worth it. Blah.

OMFG!!!! It is 3:30a.m. in the morning and I have been tossing and turning all night. This pizza is doing a number on me. I feel like absolute crap. It's part the pizza, but moreso how much of it I ate (I signed a nondisclosure agreement on that one. lol). I have already been up since 3a.m. and have downed some greens formula and am chugging the sh!t out of some water, hoping to get this crappy food out of my system as fast as possible. My mouth and throat are sooo dry, I feel like I have been stranded on the sahara for a week. I guess that's one way to cure a girl from pizza. lol. jjeane, yes, I have made homemade pizza before, just went this route because I didn't want to cook. Lesson learned. Ugh.

Good news is I get some quiet time this morning to contemplate and work on my goals for 2013. That's if my stomach and intestines will stop growling at me...
