I am trying to gain muscle mass and was wondering if it is ok to have a protein shake for breakfast? I don't feel like preparing breakfast so early in the morning and usually just drink my shake as I drive to work. I take CytoSport Cytogainer. Should I switch to a different protein? It has 54g per serving and taste delicious.
Thanks

shortstop is on the right track with prepackaging your food good reason. its an easy and fast way to still ensure youre getting whole foods for the most important meal. if youre simply asking if you can drink your cytogainer then sure if it makes your macros more power to you. But in an economic sense you could easily save money and make your own it only takes about 5 minutes to blend one up and the taste isnt bad. However, if youre planning on drinking the shake as soon as you wake up then it would benefit you by getting quick protein in you first thing. Just try to have some whole foods not too long after.

have what u want if u get ur macros but food>supps? how about just a good protein, with egg whites, oats and PB all mixed in night before? I used to do this...good stuff. Or even just protein, pb and oats. I dont even blend the oats just keep shaking it and finish off what ever is on the bottom...however I like oats.
could always make an egg sandwhich on toast...quick to throw together if u precook eggs.Used to be fat, now just fat with a lot of muscle.

ya u can have a shake in the morning. but if u can, stick with whole foods for the most part. once a week or so, ill swap my eggs for a shake...just change it up for a day..and trick my diet a little. but i wouldnt make it a consistent thing daily. whole foods is the way to go.
