I need help being motivated permenantly

    I am 15. Weigh 185 currently. And am 5"10

2 Years ago I started putting on alot of weight. After 1 year I had gained a good 40 pounds. Then I had realized it, and started trying to lose weight.
After failing at every challenge I put myself too I started october 1st. P90X . I last about 17 days eating correctly on the nutrition guide and following the workouts.
I lost 15 pounds doing that then hit a wall with schedule problems. I have sleep apnea and chronic insomnia. No excuses tho. I tryed to get through it but I just couldn't do it.

I am generally active. I go to a trampoline park twice a week and jump on trampolines for 1-2 hours each time constantly, also I skateboard anywhere I go which is usually 1-3 miles everyday.

Nobody in my family has ever been in completly ripped before no matter how hard anyone has worked. If you were to see me you'd guess I weigh 150. When people guess my weight and say 150 I feel terrible because I weigh 185.

I also drink Whey protein every morning as a meal replacement and eat decently.

It seems like either I eat normelly and be active and gain weight. Or work out hard and stay the same.

So some days I look in the mirror at night (usually around 2-3AM cause I NEVER sleep) and get very angry at the body I am looking at in the mirror. Which then causes me to work out for 2 hours that night and usually continue doing that for the next 2-3 days. Then I stop. And a couple weeks later it happends again.

I feel like i'm going in circles here... I have a gym membership and stuff like that

    I NEED CONSTANT MOTIVATION

I hate to tell you but if you need constant motivation from outside sources then you'll never be motivated to do anything.

Problem #1: You never sleep - proper sleep is basically a requirement for your body to recover and build new muscle. See if you can get a doctor to help fix you up on this a little. Progress is going to be hard.
Problem #2: You're obsessive compulsive - relax, you're only 15, you can't even legally drive a car yet and your body is still growing.

You have to play with the cards you're dealt or get new cards and fix the problems that you have, whatever it takes. Sleep apnea can be treated but I don't know anything about insomnia.

Another aspect that you havent looked at yet is your workouts. Yes they may be intense, but is it something you enjoy? The thing is, when youre working out 2 hours a day, you're going to burn out. Fast. And its only natural that you give up after 3 days.

Take it easy, try to make workouts short but intense(Look up High Intensity Interval Training) and youll stick with this plan a lot better.Or just stick with P90X if thats what you like, just make sure that you work out in a way that YOU enjoy. Also, for nutrition, eat foods that both you enjoy, and are healthy, and youll be fine. Dont be discouraged when you fall, its in the past. Stop beating yourself up about it and move forward!

When I do them I feel great. And I feel great after.
Also it's hard to find foods that I enjoy period. Let alone that are also good for me. Feel free to give any ideas

Thank you for the replies so far.

the above post is correct. you have to find the motivation yourself. if you are constantly relying on outside sources then you are fighting a losing battle.

In my perspective working out and wanting to change your body requires a whole lifestyle change. You have to prioritize the important things in your life and drop the things that are negatively impacting your life and goals. I used to be a heavy gamer and realized that I wasn't getting anything done in the real world and so I've had to cut it out of my life. I still play from time to time now but it's taken a lot of self control. Eventually you will no longer need motivation because maintaining yourself will be a necessity.

I have a friend who goes to the gym everyday. And I want to go with him. I used to alot. But he has a VERY unsafe car. And the engine goes out alot whilist driving. Me living next to the biggest casino in california. There is alot of drunk drivers. Not to mention my friend just got his license not to long ago. I am afraid to even drive with him.. I am willing to go everyday. Just not sure how i'd get there. I have self control. I just need a routine going.
