Yeah man, that's all I used to get when I was a kid, and went out for ice cream with my father. Well, that and Chocolate Soda's. More often the Chocolate Soda though... If you can, try the Pumpkin of theirs man, that's pretty incredible too.
If you HAVE a Graeters near you though, you've got to try their "Chocolate Soda." if not, here you go bro...
Graeter’s Signature Sodas
Made with sparkling soda water, two scoops of vanilla ice cream and your choice of Graeter’s delicious homemade fountain syrups
Chocolate - The grand tradition since Graeter’s founding in 1870
Chocolate Mint - A cool, refreshing blend of mint and chocolate syrups
Citrus - A cool, invigorating soda made with Graeter’s lemon and lime syrups
Fruit - Made with real cherry, raspberry, pineapple or strawberry fruit syrups
Nectar - A turn-of-the-century soda with a delicate vanilla-almond flavor
Root Beer - An old-fashioned fountain favorite
Large Glass (Dependant on how much you want.)
Graeters Plain Vanilla (1 or 2 scoops.)
Sparkling Soda Water (I'd recommend you Perrier, it's literally all naturally carbonated water legit straight from french springs.)
Milk (Any that you like.)
Chocolate Syrup (Any of your favorites.)
Straw/Spoon (To enjoy man!)
Scoop out just one scoop at first, and drop it in the glass. Next, pour the Soda Water over the ice cream until it just HITs the top. Now, pour a little of your syrup on the ice cream. Take your spoon and mash up the ice cream until it blends in with the water. Now that it's blended in, grab another scoop or 2, or even however much you want, and drop it in carefully. Again, pour soda water this time, until it barely touches the center of the scoop(1st scoops if you used 1, 2nd scoop if you use 2 scoops, it should fizz up) Now, pour the rest with the milk of your choosing (this wont be a lot of milk, it only acts as a dairy agent, and blends with the water for taste, you'll see.)Then, you add in the syrup, however you much want! Stir it around a little bit more, and Wallah!
Grab your spoon and straw, and enjoy man.
This was literally what I got more often then not when i went out for Ice Cream. This stuff is like pure crack to me. You wouldn't think so, but it's amazing, and addicting too. Not really a lot of calories either, only from the vanilla ice cream, and pretty much just a little milk (not even a cup)
God Bless, and Merry Christmas.

Stonyfield Vanilla Fudge---not even remotely special. I'm trying to find some macro-friendly froyos but keep falling flat on my face. Tastes like soft serve with cheapo hershey syrup. Took one bite and immediately cancelled a pint crush. Took 1.5 servings over a microwaved protein "brownie". Great for mixing in with your own stuff or complementing something. The base is not rich at all, but isn't icy and watery like Ciao Bella froyo or Turkey Hill FF ice creams. Good for what it is: a bland, low calorie dessert. 5.75/10

Tried it but didn't dig it. If you like candy canes, you will LOVE this! The candy canes were kind of offsetting for me though, never really like them. That said, Hagen D peppermint bark had a better base (richer), and the bark would probably make a great dessert alone.

I may have to scoop this. I've actually never had greek froyo and I keep hearing good things, apart from On Second Scoop's scathing review. It's pretty logical that blueberry would make for a good greek froyo flavor when you think about it too, due to the fact that the fruit itself is quite tart. When people eat greek yogurt flavors like vanilla, they oftentimes get weirded out by the tang of it, and are taken aback by how much the experience deviates from normalcy. That is to say, you expect vanilla to be sweet, rather than sour. With blueberry, the sensation falls in line with what you expect (tart fruit, tart product), making it less of a shock to your system.
My Freudian analysis of greek yogurt aside, I shall say that 2nd Street Creamery's Copper Kettle Caramel still sits at number 1 upon rescoop. No other brand even comes close to rivaling 2nd Street in the swirl department. It's ambrosia in a pint.

It's great eggnog gelato. But remember that it is also just eggnog gelato, so perhaps a little bit dull (no mix ins or swirl etc). I am not saying that mix-in/swirl-less ice cream is no good (High Road's Bourbon burnt sugar is one of my favorites and has neither) but a lot of guys in this thread are children of the mix-in generation.

Anyone else having trouble with photobucket?? Uploading and navigating the site seem to not be working
Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Graters
Absolutely remarkable. This is one of the best ice creams i have ever had. Its like a rich Black Raspberry Sorbet mixed with thick chunks of Chocolate Chips and full size chocolate pieces. literally its like taking a chunk of chocolate and finding pieces just sampling the top of the ice cream, will save for next week but the sample was mindblowing
Cookies and Cream
1 word - Oreo
Its like eating a thick creamy oreo in ice cream form filled with TONS of mix-ins. Cookies pieces all over the place and the base that backs up exactly what the filling is like in an oreo with the small crumb pieces
I would have to say right now
1. Buckeye
2. Black Rasp
3. Cookies and Cream
out of the 3 i have tried.
Should be getting my hands on OCC this weekend!!!!Last edited by The Solution; 12-27-2012 at 09:36 AM.
