Instead of going with my usual white blood I am trying just flat out L-Arginine. The kind I got is 500 mg's and the recommended dosage is 1 cap a day.
I know this isn't enough... so I'm curious for those who just try straight L-Arginine how much is a good amount to take pre workout?

a lot of people go way overboard on their Arginine usage. for example, NO2 recomends 10 grams a day, which is uber excessive.
you have to keep in mind that any kind of meat/protein powder will have a good bit of arginine in it. i usually add another 2 grams pre workout.Is the Dayman, Fighter of the Night Man

if its free form l arginine, youre body wont absorb all of it, or most of it even... it has to be bonded to something to help absorbtion... if you've already purchased it tho, make sure to drink some carbs to help with absorbtion

most of the preworkout NO supplements have 3000 mgs Arginine-AKG, L-Citrulline, and a few others, just to give you a ballpark figure
