Think the problem here is lumping South East asians in with East asians, because the 2 look very different.

South Easts have huge eyes, usually dark oily skin, wide faces and large wide noses.

In the US, definitely. When I was backpacking through SE Asia I felt like a solid 40% of the women between 20-40 were hot.

I think it's partly because there were so few overweight women there. Look around the next time your on the subway or a bus and imagine how it would look if everybody was fit.
