Which car should I get? Srs (reps)

Alright guys my lease is about to be up on my current 2012 honda civic lx 4 door. I am now in the market for another new car but this time I'm going down the finance way. The two cars I am looking at is the 2013 honda civic si or the 2013 subaru wrx.

I am stuck on both of these cars. Here are the cliffs on both cars.

Honda Civic Si Price 23,000
- 2dr or 4 dr
- 201 Hp
- Better Gas mileage
- Sun Roof
- Fogs
- Navigation
- FWD
- 6 SP trans

Subaru WRX BASE MODEL Price 25,500
-4 dr or 5dr
-265 HP
- 5 SPD tranny
- AWD
- Not so great gas mileage
- Turbocharged

Thats it. I can only afford the base model. If i was able to afford the next level it would come with sun roof and fogs and navi but I cant.

What do you guys think?

im coming from a low-end income background so my suggestion is to get car on craigs that you can pay cash so you wont have to finance a car. interest sucks man

dude believe me.. I'm only making 14 an hour right now at my job. I am security. I started with a 95 honda civic ex. But it was giving me soo many problems. So I leased a 2012 vehicle and it gave me no problems so I was able to save my money for 3 years. With that being said.. I can never go back to a used car.

its cheaper and you'll be able to set it up the way you want to

Working in the automotive finance industry I am gonna give you a few tips.

1. Know you're credit score! - I can't tell you how many people come in and are shocked that they did not qualify for a "prime" loan. A FICO of 600 and 650 qualify for vastly different rates so its good to know where you stand.

2. Only finance through a dealer if you are going to use the auto manufacture finance bank for example Honda Financial. Now there are some exceptions where dealers can get better rates but in most cases you can save a lot on interest by going to you're local credit union if Honda denies you.

3. Do not mention a trade in until after you first discuss the price of the car! The sales people will try to manipulate the value of the trade to make it seem like you are getting a good price on the car if you let them know in advance. Telling them at the end ensures you get the "best" price on the car and value on trade.

4. Never, I mean never ever ever pay late! I have seen people come in 2 days late and pay and for some reason think its okay. Its not. It gets reported immediately as a late payment which can take years to fall of reports at the credit agencies.

As far as the cars. I honestly don't like that Honda replace the screamer 2.0 with the accord 2.4l but it does have more torque which is what you care about in racing. The Subaru has less features so the Honda seems like the better value. Have you checked out the Focus ST? It has the new Eco-Boost 4 with 250 hp and is in your price range?

I'd take the Subie over the Si anyday, especially if you live in the North-East where AWD is useful. Both cars when modded can become really fast, the Honda should have cheap bolt-ons. If you're a fan of Vtec engines, then you'll like the Honda which has a majority of its power in the high rev band. The Subaru's boxer engine sounds great and an exhaust further enhances the burble. Stock vs. Stock, the Subaru will pull away from the Honda no matter what especially from a dead start where the AWD really kicks in vs the FWD Honda. I have driven both (great friends), I found the Subaru to be more enjoying to drive, but much less comfortable. If you care about technology, then go with the Honda as Subaru falls short in this department. The Honda would probably suit you better as a daily driver if you care about luxuries and gas mileage, but if you're looking to have a car that is a blast to drive both in a straight line and through the twisties, then the Subaru is your best bet. Their both reliable brands, if not Honda having a slight edge.

If I were you, I'd take the Subaru, especially if it's the hatchback, but thats just me.

Mhmmmmm. I might try to talk them down on the New subaru I want with the features cause the MSRP is 28.6k While it only costed them around 22k to make. So a fair price would be 25k.

IMO, get a subaru thats either 1 year old, or get a really good condition 2004.

Although im a huge subaru fan (if i keep my grades up my dad promised hed buy me a used wrx), the only thing tipping the scale for me in terms of the subaru being worth it for the money is the awd, here in canada its super useful. Plus i snowboard a lot.

Well there are many factors with that though since it was rear-ended. Was the title of car salvage? Was the air bags deployed? etc etc.
