I looked at the calendar this morning and realized my 40th is 2 weeks away (Dec 12th) so really 13 days. What I want to know is wtf did this happen?! I swear I was 22 yesterday!!! The last few weeks have been especially challenging for me to work out and get my eating on track. What a better time to bust it than 13 days before my b-day?
I've had my gym membership on hold for the past several months (got bored with the weights etc) and have attempted several different workout programs at home. I was under the illusion the more extreme the better. I started Insanity and ended up hurting my back (good job lady!) Then started Turbo Fire and ended up with shoulders so tight and knotted I had headaches for days on end. Since then I haven't done any workouts. I guess I should mention that when I was doing these two workouts I thought, "oh I'll do two workouts a day....." moron! I'm sure over doing it is what led to the injuries/headaches.
Now, I'm doing BBL (Brazil Butt Lift). Laugh, scoff, whatever you want...it's not easy and man-o-man you feel it the next day! Right now I'm finding it "gentler" in that I'm not busting out as many burpees as I can in 30 seconds ... the movements are more controlled.
So 13 days of journalling...I can do that......

I have come to notice a small pattern....as soon as I start to workout again, I get sick...what the hell is that?! I now have a full on cold. 2nd one in 2 months. I generally NEVER get sick. Last time I got sick it was after a couple days of working out. Since my workouts have been at home....it's not like I picked something up at the gym. Is the universe trying to tell me something? Last night I took some Nyquil and slept like a rock. I have today off so hopefully I will feel better.
My motivation is not lacking...
This is for every activity I have been feeling to "fat" or out out shape to participate in
This is for every outfit I have wanted to wear but has not fit
This is for every pair of shorts, skirt and dress I have wanted to wear but haven't felt "thin" enough
This is for the men who have not given me a second thought
This is for all the gym workouts I have missed because I haven't wanted to look at my reflection in the mirror
This is for all the time I have spent "hiding" because I've felt like sh!t
This is for all the hot ripped men I "want" (oooooh yeeeeah!)
This is to show myself how fanfcukingtastic my body really is under there
This for every picture I have envied of other fit women
Read this article....was right up my alley (except I don't have kids or a hubby lol)

I'm turning 40...not 100!
WOO HOO awesome!
OMG this cold sucks! My head /nose is congested and even when my nose is running like niagara falls i'm still congested. Nyquil has been my bff the last couple nights. Workouts have been zero due and due to any sudden movements it feels like the room is going in 50 different directions...not good. Oh yea and some lovely headache to boot .... that a really sexy description eh? Hope to be over this, this weekend....in the meantime I'll be checking other threads/journals...ta ta for now!Journal but the 2020/2021 ed. ---> https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=141049421

And looks who has bounced back from the land of the sick Took it easy again yesterday (I wanted the cold to be d-e-a-d!) and i'm pretty sure it is. Will be getting flu shot asap.
I'm 16.5 hrs into my first 24 hr fast. I'm tackling IF again along with carb cycling. Not sure how long the carb cycling will last b/c I find it a pain to track what days are what (high or low). If should be relatively easy for me to get into since it is what I was doing pre entering my 30s I just didn't know I was doing it lol. Anyhoo, I feel good, in a pretty decent mood and ready to rock n roll this week.
My bff has asked where I want to go on my 40th....all i know is we are dressing up....I have no clue where to go.....lol IF will not done on that evening i'm pretty sure!Journal but the 2020/2021 ed. ---> https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=141049421

Yesterday was a successful 24 hr fast. As I had hoped down 2 lbs this am. Another 24 hr fast will follow sometime this week (maybe Friday). I should note that when I'm in a 24 hr fast I do not workout. I have read a lot of horror stories of people doing that and well I would rather not experience it
Tonight will be BBL ooooh my boom boom is going to feel it!

Well I've just started IF this week so success I cannot report yet! Like you, i'm not planning to work out while doing the 24 hr fasts...i think that would be a set up for trouble/problems.
I didn't know you did IF too! That's awesome!

Oi,
I woke up this morning and once again realized that losing weight is not an overnight, fast process. I have talked about this over and over. My weight has gone up significantly in the last 3 yrs due to stress (emotional and physical). I am the heaviest I have ever been (i'll say it here at 5'4 - 157 holy fack!) Anyway, a part of my problem is getting over the food compulsions/emotional eating. I need to "snap out of it".
I woke up again frustrated and depressed... this sucks. Oh boo.Journal but the 2020/2021 ed. ---> https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=141049421

Just wanted to wish you well on your 'mini' journey.
Seriously, you can do anything you put your mind to, CF. Sometimes, there are setbacks, but that's all part of it. Remember, this isn't a race, it's a lifelong path... If we think we can or can't.....we are right.
I enjoyed the journals when I kept them up, definitely keeps one accountable! I keep one in a notebook now.
Stay strong, chica!

*hugs* I know this feel and frustration. Any news on the jobs front? For me my greatest successes have come when other elements of my life have been such that I am happy - then eating right and working out have suddenly become easy and enjoyable. Not that discipline is still not required, but fighting the tide of situational depression makes it all but impossible. Just remember that this is for you, and you are your most important thing. Not work, not anything else. And don't forget the small successes - sounds like the scale is dropping like crazy!

lol
Thank you! I'm so glad you stopped by and visited. I feel like I got a hug from you I don't see you around much anymore
Thank you! I needed the hug! Sometimes I think I physically can't lose weight, even if I followed a "diet"....
You nailed it on the head! I am the same way too. For example the last time I remember being at my lowest weight and being happy, I was in a job that at the time I enjoyed and was challenged. I have a very strong feeling a lot of this is challenging because other elements of my life are out of whack. The one that seems to be the biggest factor is work. It seems like when my career is in a good place everything else falls into line. I haven't heard anything yet on the jobs. They are both with the government and anything involving the government takes FOREVER ... so I'm not surprised either.
Wow! I think it's super cool that the second time around you didn't change weight but your body changed dramatically.
