Yes brah, super important. Carbs pretty much are the fuel to help you push through a workout. If you want to cut down on carbs then do so, but make note on the effects. If you see a decline in strength or size then make your necessary adjustments. You'll also have a change in mood.

In a highly trained athletic audience:
No significant differences were detected between VLCKD and WD in all strength tests. Significant differences were found in body weight and body composition: after VLCKD there was a decrease in body weight (from 69.6±7.3 Kg to 68.0±7.5 Kg) and fat mass (from 5.3±1.3 Kg to 3.4±0.8 Kg p<0.001) with a non-significant increase in muscle mass.

Agreed. I've heard many people say they are going to start cutting carbs out of their dinners and replacing with more veggies...Many people do not realize fruits/veggies etc. are carbs.
I think the bad rep comes from the more calorie dense or highly processed carbs (bread, pasta etc.) it is the excess calories that will hurt your cut, not carbs.
So yea OP, carbs are important for muscles and are usually recommended PW as well.
