One works the rear part of the shoulder and a little back, while the other focuses on the shoulder and a little chest.
Put your arms in the air. Lean them forwerd a little like doing a front. Youll notice you can flex your chest a little, and thats what you do. Do the same for behind your head. You use your rear delts and a little back.

For starters the bar is in front with the military press and behind the head with the behind the head press. If some idiot personal trainer told you different, whack them with a 45 and find someone who knows anything.
