Easy way to raise your Testosterone levels naturally

This is my current natural daily stack I'm using to raise test levels. Only just added the Vit D and Quercetin caps so will get bloods done in 4-6 weeks.

3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1.2g NAC with 1g Vit C and Selenium
    1000U Vitamin D
3.2g Quercetin (replace with onion juice if your a real man)

Common theme is antioxidants help produce more test and healthy fats of course help convert cholesterol into test (olive oil).

First up, I like ergo-log and I like the author (works on my university).

But sometimes I have the impression that people just read the headings and don't really understand (or read) the actual study on which the article was based. Now I understand that not everyone is a scientist, but that does not mean you should blindly accept everything you read on the internet. On a dutch forum all the respected/intelligent members thought a certain poster was a tool. Then the guy started a blog, and a couple of months later I saw his articles posted on international forum where they refered to him as a 'guru'. Having a blog or whatever does not make you smart, knowledgeable or right. (btw ergo-log is not claiming to be always right, but people have the natural tendency to believe stuff they want to be true).

If I would have to write articles for a blog, I would use titles like 'Onion juice thriples testosterone' as well, because that will get attention. However, alot of antioxidants increase testosterone production in animals, but not necessarily in humans. If the MOA of preventing oxidative stress in the testes is usefull in rats, but hardly effective in humans, you could use 10 different foods/supplements about which you have read on ergo-log that they to increase testosterone (in rats via that MOA) while it will have no effect on you. Thus understanding why something is working, is essential for your wallet, and might save you alot of trouble (or foul tasting food).

This is kinda what No Hype was saying in that Onion juice topic, but it is true in general.

Yeah not saying its gonna triple my test levels or anything but getting the bloods done to see if there's much change. Apart from raising test they have health benefits anyway so I can afford the $ to see how it will go for a while.

Zinc naturally increases test levels. Only a couple bucks at a nutirition store.

Some good advice in here... sleep, eggs for cholesterol esp. boiled or poached to reduce oxidation, olive oil and coconut oil... along with those supp ideas... for selenium I would opt for a form known as SeMC which is found in garlic and broccoli: http://www.aor.ca/html/products.php?id=104

To add to the discussion and info...

AOR also has a time-released NAC which theoretically should be superior.

Eating berries and nuts is a good idea imo.. pistachio's are high in gamma tocopherol and tocotrienols may be something to consider. Cranberries seem interesting.

Don't restrict lean meats including some red meats for better test levels. That has been shown over and over in studies.

Broccoli/Brussell Sprouts and I3C/3,3’-Diindolymethane (DIM) containing foods should help control bad forms of estrogen which simply are unavoidable in today's estrogen dominant environment... Calcium D-Glucarate and Sulforaphane are also interesting nutrients.

Some flavanoid-rich foods have potentially beneficial natural AI support... Apigenin comes to mind which is in Chamomile. I have read some studies showing AI benefits.

Improving insulin levels and function should positively impact overall hormonal status and test levels ... often those with syndrome X have reduced test and increased estrogen, while also having more body fat.

Don't restrict healthy dietary fat such as olive oil, coconut oil and fish oil. These are key fats to include in any diet.

I would increase Vit.D3 to 2000-4000iu/day esp. during the winter or darker months of the year when sun is less intense.

Finally the last thing that comes to mind is Astaxanthin which may assist in maintaining a higher test level.

As usual JornT makes a great point that soooo many times what works in rats/mice doesn't always pan out for humans... I can't begin to imagine how many super mice there must be after seeing so many incredible studies in these animals with things like Trans Resveratrol for example... those supplemented mice have it made. I like reading ergo, but I think some of the studies are also pretty silly at times... an interesting read regardless.

    Kudos brah, great informative post!

What's the upper daily limit on Vitamin D as I've heard too much can be toxic?

I would say you would need to ingest well over 10,000iu/day for an extended period of time to cause any issues... 2000-4000iu is quite safe...long, long term I would be most likely to recommend 2000iu.

Calcium D-Glucarate and Sulforaphane are also interesting nutrients.

there is no conclusive evidence that a generelizable upper limit exists

safe is <2.000 IU, but there is a whole lot of people who need 6.000IU just to achieve mediocre blood values

John Cannell, MD, is the president of The Vitamin D Council, a non-profit group that advocates higher vitamin D intake. According to a letter written to us by Dr. Cannell, adults need to take 5,000 IU a day of vitamin D to put the vast majority of them (97.5%) above the 50 ng/mL level.

Dr. Cannell supplied us with published papers arguing that optimal doses for adults are between 4,600 and 10,000 IU, with persuasive evidence that 10,000 IU a day of supplemental vitamin D is not toxic.
