I've recently had to readjust my workouts from evening to morning. Basically I wake up at 4:30 a.m. in order to start training at 5 a.m. That gives me about 20 minutes to eat something before my workout.
Just wondering what is the best meal b/c I don't want to be bloated or sluggish. So far I've been having 30g whey in water with a banana and then sipping on Xtend during my workout.
At 6 a.m. (immediately post-workout) I have 40g whey and 80g carbs (either WMS or oats). Then at 8 a.m. I have a full meal - usually chicken or beef with pasta/rice/baked potato. Rest of my day is typical P+C or P+F meals every 3 hours.
Any advice on my morning meal? Is fasted with only Xtend a bad idea???
Thanks

I work out the same time you do, 4:30am. It can be tough getting food down and what not. I just throw down 2 scoops of whey and have 2 rice cakes with a piece of fruit, I have 1/2 a grapefruit personally but a banana would be quick and easy too. Never feel sluggish or full on this either.

preworkout morning meal
I have two staples for my morning pre workout. I also take SuperPump or Jacked before workouts
#1 - Steel cut oats (slow digesting carbs) mixed with Peanut butter and a scoop of weigh proteing
#2 - Egg Beater Egg Whites, a banana, and strawberrys mixed in a blender. Makes a great smoothie.
I also take XTEND during my workoutTrain To Gain Not Maintain
