bananas
Natural Energy Boosters:
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.! But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or preventa! substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to our daily diet.

Why not go for a protein and fruit smoothie- banana/ apple/ berries etc. mixed with some fast acting protein (whey) and simple carbs (honey)? Toss it in a blender with some water and ice, down it, and you're good to go!

Anything you can digest.
For me, I'd do it fasted because food w/in 3 hours of working out = stomach ache!! Props for strong GI tract.KARMA; reps for life:

Not on the list? Don't worry! There's still plenty of chances to achieve good karma.

Thanks guys for all the great info in here! Yeah getting going at 4am is tough. I should have added that I do take in some sort of prework out drink like jack3d to help and then 1 scoop of whey about 20 mins before. But my big problem is Im not seeing the results I would like and someone had told me to add in a good carb before hand. So I wasn't sure what to add.
