so about a month and half ago I injured my neck at the gym while doing reverse bench press, I just recently took an MRI and I apparently have an herniated disc at C5-C6 (neck)
the doctor advised I do light weights at the gym till the pain is completely gone, she also said a surgery won't be needed unless my symptoms get worse
now I'm wondering, could joint supplements help me recover faster? or any supplement at all?
and are there any exercises I should avoid? I know I feel pressure/stiffness in my neck when doing most exercises so it's quite annoying
Any input would be greatly appreciated

Follow the doc's orders. You could potentially mess it up even more and not be able to lift anymore.
I don't think there is really anything on the market that can help you with that.
Good luck.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.

I use Cissus and Fish oil for various issues including herniated discs in my lower back. It's hard to pinpoint how effective they are, but ever since I started taking both religiously I have been able to stop taking advil (used to take upwards of 12 advils a day) and my back pain has decreased.
One recommendation to avoid neck problems when lifting, is not to turn your neck in the middle of a set. May sound simple, but its something I learned recently. good luck

It's worth a shot. Joint Force would probably help better than any of the others because it works towards stopping the inflammatory response at connective tissue. Plus, its a topical spray so you could spray it directly on your neck for localized effect.
Bumping up your dosage of fish oil would be a good idea, as well, as it too has anti-inflammatory propertiesu mad?

I have a herniated L5 and honestly i take animal flex with cissus everyday along with plenty of fish oil. They key is to keep blood circulating through the affected area and that will help the healing process. I went back to the gym just 3 weeks after i blew it out and i need no meds of any sort anymore. It has been a year and a half now but i've been good for over a year.
As mentioned previously..there is no miracle just take care of yourself and carefully work through it.

Herniated L4/L5 here. I don't think there are many supplements that are going to have a significant impact on your recovery. Some may reduce inflammation as others have pointed out. Whats going to be important is ensuring your flexibility, form, and weaknesses are all accounted for. The neck is obviously different then the lumbar since things like posterior chain play a role in how much stress is going to be put on your back during different lifts. With the C vertebrae definitely follow your doctors recommendations and give yourself ample healing time as you really don't want to mess around with the neck area.
