I tried to search the thread on this topic but my search isn't working, and I want to make my purchase soon.
I've used Whey before, but couldn't bare the taste enough to drink a lot to notice a difference. I'm in paramedic school so I'm going to start forcing myself to drink it because I need to build muscle.
I'm looking at casein because I see that you can drink it at night before bed. I'm also looking at Hydrolyzed Whey since it works quicker.
Which do you guys recommend?? Also how often should I drink it? Daily, every 3 days? I work out every other day if that helps.
Thanks

doesnt matter which type you get. Blends are fine, whey works just fine. Casein is good for satiation. The speed at which something works doesnt matter, that's marketing hype. You havent tried the right kind of whey if you think it has to taste bad.
Look into PROnom (free samples in my sig), protean, vasolate and UP
PROnom is the best chocolate on the market imo and the vanilla tastes like a twinkie

Can't beat 4.4lbs Nitropeak Whey for $39.94, and you get a free 1lb Nitro Peak Whey with it right now, a great deal!

You can drink it whenever you like. I normally have ~2 shakes a day whenever I'm pressed for time between college classes or need a quick and easy meal replacement.

The most important factor for you is to find a protein that you enjoy. This is too easy with today's protein. Forget about that sleepy-time and fast acting line. Check out the nutrition section to figure out your macros. This will tell you how much p/c/f you need. Frequency of protein is not the key. Hitting your macros is.

Good opportunity here for reps to post up their best looking protein powder photos.

It's highly unlikely to make any measurable difference whether it's whey, casein, or a blend. Both proteins are high-quality, and both are effective. Get a product that suits your macronutrient preferences, and one that you can enjoy drinking so you don't have to "start forcing yourself to drink it!"

Dymatize Elite Whey is my go to- Great quality, amazing taste, and isn't expensive. Cafe Mocha is highly recommended!
Btw choose the protein based upon what your goals are..If you're going to be working out and want to gain muscle I would buy Whey protein and have it right after your workout with a good carb source such as an apple, or bowl of oatmeal.

This is a misleading comment. It's similar to saying "eat based upon your goals," but there are not specific foods for individual goals. Food choices are based on personal needs and preferences, and the same goes for protein powder. Also, the facts are this: slow or a combination of slow/fast proteins appear to be superior to fast proteins alone post-workout. If whey-only was superior to a casein-whey blend, we would see this demonstrated consistently in head-to-head comparisons. That simply has not been the case in research.
