Oh...and yesterday I read about a woman in Phoenix who jumped the sidewalk in ran over a crowd of people killing 12 and injuring 23.
Better stop letting people own cars, too.

I'm pro-Second Amendment but I also cringe when during debates about gun control, the pro right to bear arms side brings up the issue of how more people die from auto accidents than by gun shots. Purpose of a gun is to kill while the purpose of an automobile is transportation.
I also don't think the OP really advocated killing any children. I took it more as "how would the people who support the Second Amendment feel if their kids were killed in cold blood" than outright wishing death on their kids. Maybe in the heat of the moment it came out more harshly than it was meant to be

I do not understand this argument either.
This is something else that has been floating around on FB the last few days, and I don't understand WTF is trying to be said. WTF does that even mean? It makes absolutely no sense.
I am still in too much shock over the tragedy to debate the gun issue over this. It was just yesterday, for chrissakes. And it's BOTH sides that are all over the place, defending their position.Sheriff John Brown always hated me

LOL BH is a good guy. He speaks 'off the cuff' just a bit. Well, all the freakin' time! He's Puerto Rican! It's not 'racist' to say that, it's just the truth! Feelings close to the skin! LMAO To be radically truthful, there's not that much of "Puerto Rico." Understand what I'm saying. There was quite the discussion on that awhile back when that phrase was couched in Spanish; Entiendes lo que estoy diciendo! BH is as Puerto Rican as I am 'old world English!' BH, you're as American as apple pie and hot dogs! There's nothing wrong with that! We're a crazy bunch, from all over, but we're Americans! I get tired of hearing just where we're from and who we are! We're freakin' Americans! And we think the way we do, right or wrong!

Have you not noticed the revolutions taking place in the middle east? It is far more difficult for even a tyrannical government to do what it wills once it is forced to use lethal force on its own people. Once that happens it tends to multiply the number of people who will take a stand, and it is far more difficult to do when those very people are armed, even if those arms are small potatoes in comparison to government weapons.
The bigger issue, and one that most fail to ask is why do our politicians focus on the tool of violence rather then the cause? Most of the countries with far higher firearm murder rates then the US (which is around 3 per 100,000) also have far fewer weapons per capita then the US. Conversely a country like Switzerland where all citizens are armed is lower (.5 per 100,000). The issue has nothing to do with firearms and everything to do with our society. The real issue is lack of economic opportunity, lousy educational system, and single parent homes where boys are being raised without a strong male role model in the home to enforce right and wrong. These kids grow up stupid, they grow up where their role models present themselves as gangster and that supposed to be cool. Its not just inner city, kids in the 'burbs are no better off anymore. Not all fall into that category, from the sounds of things yesterdays killer did not, but sick people will always exist and bad things will never be able to be completely prevented.
Take away the guns and you will simply force them to adapt, and they will, they will find a way to lash out and only a fool would believe otherwise.
If your real concern is stopping events like happened yesterday then guns would not be very high on your list of what needs to be fixed.Last edited by SP1966; 12-15-2012 at 10:25 PM.

Truth reps..except i'm out. I once asked a couple of black co-workers why they always had to use the term african-americans? I asked them you ever been to africa? Your parents ever been to africa? Hell do you even know which country in africa your ancestors came from? And their answer in all cases was no excpet for one of them claimed his ancestors came from Nigeria. I told then the same thing you mentioned, you are American end of story. I don't go around using the term Italian American to describe my heritage, it's plain ole American.

Curently the USA is #28 in the world for murders via guns per capita and as you mentioned it's just below 3, something like 2.67 I believe and yet we also have the highest amount of gun ownership in the world, yes even higher than switzerland which only requires 1 gun per household. Most of the people here who own guns have multiples. All sorts of great unbiased info on this site http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/data-a.../homicide.html

Most people take the right to bare arms responsibly, cant deny that, its when the responsibility is blamed on the right when an act with a gun occurs. What has been overlooked is that the shooter had aspergers syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder. The main symptom being poor social judgement, impulse control, and obsessiveness. For example, when the police went to his home, his room was not of a typical 20 something, completely ordered, everything in its place, etc.
The shooter in many of these horrific killings have had some sort of chronic mental health issue. That is mostly over looked when a gun is the weapon of choice. So my concern is how do you filter out the opportunity for people with severe mental health issues ( how else would any person do such an act unless this is the reason), have access to guns, bombs, or similar weapons.
Maybe some thought on this could be discussed.I'm open to any suggestions and have a difficult time accepting limitations without an honest effort on my part, you can count on that!

No fuk you dip ****. I believe in the 2nd amendment rights as an American and I will fight to the death to uphold them! You stay away from our children. What the fuk is wrong with your thinking man? Bellevue... check yourself in SOON!
God damit the OP lives in a "May Issue" state and knows very little to nothing about the right to bear arms or our rights to carry. He like many NY'rs are programed by the anti gun Bloomburg liberal machine. What gets me is all the rage posts "I'll beat that MF'er to death... cut me off in traffic". I think OP's fists and attitude are extremely volatile. This is the reason most law abiding citizens arm themselves. Keep the attitude and violent behavior in your (red) neck of the woods, it wouldn't play well in my "Shall Issue" state.
