Calvin Johnson Will Get 2000 Yards Receiving This Season

My bold prediction of the year. If Stafford and Calvin play 16 games, this WILL happen. No running game and a bad secondary puts a lot of pressure on Stafford and the Lions offense to go to the air. Calvin can not be covered by any player, or any two players at the same time.

2000/16= 125 yards a game.

Stafford threw for over 5000 yards this past season.

Calvin Johnson had over 200 yards receiving in 3 of his last 4 games this past season.



We will talk about him already as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game at seasons end at only 27 years old.

There should be no issue double or even triple teaming Megatron considering there isn't any other receiving threat the Lions have opposite him.

Much more physically talented than Rice and passing way up. 150 yards is less than 10 a game, which can certainly be done.

I like Pettigrew. But Young and Broyles are still young and still have a lot to prove on the field. And Burleson has already seen his better days. I wouldn't say any of those three guys has solidified themselves as a legit bonafied stud number two threat in this stage of their careers.

Disclaimer: If Calvin or Stafford miss time, disregard this thread. However, I'll say the same thing the following year. As long as both are healthy for 16 games, Calvin has a very realistic opportunity of putting up 2000 yards for the next few seasons.

Calvin is a beast. He's one of the players I just knew coming out of college would dominate. The guy is a freak, to be as tall and big as he his with track speed.

I dont think he'll break 2000 yards but I say he'll defiantly have the most receiving yards in a season before he's done

They're good enough to pay enough attention to that will allow Calvin opportunities of his own. And like I said before, he can't be covered by anyone. He will still get 100 yards in a game if he is double at the line the entire time.

Hey, isn't it odd that outside of the QB position, the best players in the league almost all happen to be the biggest freaks? It's almost as if there's some type of correlation between athletic ability and performance. Obviously there are other factors, but take a look around at some of the best players in the league.

Bolded teams either were really good defensively or had very good pass rush and/or corners which would cause problems in the passing game.

Rams will be much improved both in the secondary and their pass rush. Titans are solid. Packers could go either way, they're a year removed from being dominant.

Really the only teams which look like probable domination by the Lions are Jags and Colts. Not saying they won't put up their yards against the good defenses but it certainly won't be an easy road.
