Not military yet (yes, I know I don't count) but it's great to see everyone. Marine Corps OCC candidate w/aviation option here, just passed the ASTB and flight physical this past month. Thank you everyone for your service!

A couple of people have told me that there's no point in starting body building now since I won't have time to work on it once I start training in October. They told me to just run. I recently realized that that may not be the best advice and it would benefit me to put on as much muscle as I can before I go. Plus, at least I'll have the know how to train.

Through a student veteran organization at my school, we hold events making cards/care packages for troops overseas. For any of you that are deployed or know a unit that is, send me your info!

Also, anyone at NAS North Island? Going down for the Centennial Parade of Flight on the 12th.

As long as you can MAX all aspects of the Marine PFT (3 miles in 18 minutes, 20 dead-hang pullups, 100 crunches), then add on whatever training you want.

Otherwise, focus on the Marine Corps fitness requirements - poor performance on those events could get you dropped from training (no matter how big your arms are

)

PS: "Poor" performance for an Officer candidate could be anything below a 285 on the PFT.

I was going to ocs through the plc but droped it to go to MCRD San Diego 1st now im in afghanistan and in another 2 years i'll most likely be at ocs lol

Currently in the British Army, Served 5 years in the Parachute Regiment then left for 4 years and then rejoined into the Royal Artillery where we fly UAV's.........

4.5 years Maine Army national guard (full time), 2.5 years Navy Reserve Gunners Mate 2nd class, and Leave for Active duty Army in july for 25C school. Been Training for about 3 years, 2 years dedicateed to bodybuilding. Hope to submit a packet for Special forces. Best of luck to everyone.

Army active duty stationed at Redstone Arsenal, I've been in since I was 17. I'm retiring the end of this year after 25 years and several deployments.
