*had to wait for salt to melt the ice in the driveway.

*This was the best the yoke has felt in a looooooong time.

*Goal was 525 x 3. Had it loaded up, pulled #1 good, got forward on #2, #3 was solid, Dan called for a fourth, #4 went up fine. Felt great.

*This pleased me very much. 240 was my best single up to now (also the best double, but I digress). Cleans went much better as well. The split jerk was not the best form, but the staggered foot position allowed me to be in a rather stable position to lockout in. Still not bad for the first time going really heavy with a split jerk. Also, at about 27 seconds, you can see me hit myself on the chin with the log during the clean....that hurt.

DE Squat

*First time squatting against chain. It was awesome. I really liked it. Sounded cool and is a good way to get work in if you are trying to save your hips for a ME deadlift day.
Front Squats

GHR
BW x 5 (5 sets)
*Tried to focus on the better form. Went ok.
Random Upper Back Stuff
light pulley work x high reps for 6 sets
Another session that was two days late. Went a bit light as I have a ME deadlift session that is my focus two days after this was performed (on 12/29/12). Not a bad session though.

It is nice.
I have a host of shows on the map, but the main goal is to not miss more than one event in a contest. I will select 4-5 shows based on how the events match up. The main goal is to get stronger and more proficient at the events. ME Deadlift

*Goal for the day was to hit a solid single with 585 (a 20 lb PR). Goal was met. Dan called for 600 cuz if I can get the bar to my knees, I can just about lock out anything. Wasn't in the cards. A few more weeks though and I may have a chance at it with a different approach.
I had a decent day training. I was very short on time as I had to get my New Years Eve party on. Goal was accomplished and 600 broke the floor. One bad thing is that I reverted to a couple of bad habits. 545 got so far forward, I had to fight it to lockout. That was dumb.
Although 600 is close, it will be a month or so before I attempt it. I am going to focus on pulling from high blocks to get the feel for the 18" pull I have coming up in a contest.

Sadly, I won't be able to make it down there for a while. It was nice over the holidays as it is close to my Mom's house....but it is a long trip down there and I gotta save some money after a rather expensive holiday season.
